We are Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, consecrated women of the Church faithful to the charism of Blessed Clelia Merloni.

Founded in Italy in 1894 by Blessed Clelia Merloni, the Apostles share the love of the Heart of Christ through active ministry in education, health care, social services, and pastoral and diocesan leadership. We serve in 14 countries across five continents. Here in the United States, we minister in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and Missouri.

Today, we turn to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in praying for an end to the violence seen across our country and our world. Please join in our prayer:

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
Source of all mercy and love,
we place our nation and our world
within Your wounded yet glorious Heart.

Bring an end to the violence and hatred
poisoning our communities;
calm what is divided and broken.
Heal those who carry pain, fear, and loss,
and soften hearts hardened by anger or despair.

May Your peace—true, lasting, and born of love—
take root in our communities, our leaders, and our lives.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in You.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we believe in your love for us.
Blessed Clelia, pray for us, and teach us to forgive.

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are observing this coming First Friday (Feb. 6) as a day of penance and prayer for peace in our nation and our world. We invite you to join us in offering prayer and sacrifice for an end to the violence playing out in communities across our nation. Let us turn to the Sacred Heart of Jesus—source of healing, love and forgiveness—in praying for reconciliation where there is division, peace where there is apprehension, and calm where there is anger. Below is a short prayer you can pray with us:

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
source of all mercy and love,
we place our nation and our world within

Today is World Day for Consecrated Life! As we celebrate the gift of consecrated life and the gift of our vocation as Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we pray for all those whom God is calling to the consecrated life. We pray especially for all the women whom God is calling to serve Him as His Apostles of Love!

No, Sr. Colleen Mattingly is not practicing karate moves. She's talking about her favorite topic: vocations! This week, she was blessed to visit Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford and St. Mary-St. Michael School in Derby to talk with students about the different vocations within the Church, share her own vocation story, and answer students' questions.

This just in: Sr. Margaret Ann Calcutta, director of the Morning Star program at St. John the Evangelist School, Pensacola, was interviewed by an intrepid young reporter yesterday during a Career Day event in celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Students were encouraged to come to school dressed as what they would like to be when they grow up.

“He really knew how to interview,” says Sr. Margaret. “He asked ‘How are you?’ and ‘Why did you want to become a Sister?’”

Sisters at Mount Sacred Heart gathered for a farewell send-off yesterday afternoon as Sr. Margaret K***z departed for Waterford, Ireland, for an extended visit with Sr. Clare Millea and Sr. Kathryn Press, our missionaries there. This visit will allow her to become familiar with the Diocese of Waterford-Lismore, our areas of ministry there, and the many wonderful people to whom and with whom our Sisters serve. Please join us in praying for a blessed and impactful visit! 🙏💚

Sr. Luisa Villegas, Vice Provincial of the U.S. Province, is sharing the love of the Heart of Christ at the U.S./Mexico border this week. She is one of 11 Catholic Sisters participating in the “Catholic Sisters Walking with Migrants” program organized by the Kino Border Initiative / Iniciativa Kino para la Frontera, a nonprofit that provides humanitarian aid and accompaniment at the border. During this week-long immersion program, the Sisters will walk across the border each day to accompany and minister to individuals and families at the KBI migrant aid center in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

They will also have the opportunity to meet with border patrol agents and ranchers on the U.S. side of the border in Nogales, Arizona. Please join us in praying for Sr. Luisa and the other Sisters participating in the program, as well as for all those whom they will accompany and encounter during this experience.

Together with Sacred Heart Academy - Hamden, CT, we are hosting another Eucharistic Holy Hour and Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, February 12! ❤️‍🔥

We invite you to consider this opportunity to consecrate yourself and/or your family to the Sacred Heart. The ceremony will include a special prayer of consecration, a blessing of each individual and family, and a blessing of the home. Each person/family will also receive a blessed image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of their choosing.

Additionally, each individual/family is invited to have an Enthronement ceremony in their homes during which the Sacred Heart image is hung in a special place as a reminder of one’s consecration and the unconditional Love of Jesus.

We congratulate Cor Jesu Academy senior Emily Tran, who received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Model of Justice Award by the Archdiocese of St. Louis! Each year, archdiocesan parishes and Catholic high schools across St. Louis recognize individuals who embody Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s values by making a meaningful impact in their communities. These values are closely aligned with the charism of our Foundress, Blessed Clelia Merloni, who had a heart for the poor and marginalized.
