Don ‘t believe everything you hear, read the bible for yourself. 

Hosea 5:6
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

Have you noticed the rise of a new atheism? The old atheist would say, "There is no God," whereas the new atheist asserts, "There is a God, but He shares my perspective." Regrettably, these new atheists are everywhere, even within our own places of worship. The new atheists are more difficult to engage with than their traditional counterparts, as the old atheists would just say, "I don't believe," whereas the new atheists claim, "I believe, but with conditions."

As James 8:32 states, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Thus, reading your Bible is crucial.

2 Samuel 15:22-23

22) “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold to obey is better than sacrifice and to heed than the fat of rams.
23) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king.”

The prophet Samuel just passed judgment on King Saul for his disobedience to God. The Bible says God delights in our obedience to Him. It goes on to say when we disobey God, it’s the same as practicing witchcraft. And to turn from His word is the same as worshipping idols. God will never accept sin and rebellion from His church and people. Know the word. Trust the word. Live the word. You will delight the Lord!!

Due to weather temperatures being extremely low Saturday and Sunday, we will unfortunately need to cancel services this Sunday, February 1. The water lines will freeze and we will have no water. We will plan on having Bible study on Wednesday 2/4. Thankfully we have warm weather coming. Stay safe and if you have an opportunity attend a church. Thanks and God bless.

All services for today and this Wednesday have been canceled due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. Our prayer is that the power supply remains uninterrupted and everyone is able to stay indoors and keep warm.

Wednesday as we gather to celebrate the life of this sister in Christ, we rejoice that she is in the arms of her Lord and Savior, but we are heartbroken that she left us way too soon. We will miss her larger than life personality and that beautiful voice that could raise the rafters when she sang. We know she is singing at the throne of God now.

MZBC would like to extend our appreciation to "Ashley County Go Red" for their fundraising efforts to provide AEDs for local churches and community gathering places. Featured are three of our nurses, Linda Laing, Sharon Hill, and Greg Bruton, who will join Tonya Barnett, Ashley Whitaker, Pat Brown and other church members in receiving CPR and emergency response training.

We had a wonderful service this morning. The Kelley Family delivered a powerful musical performance and shared heartfelt testimonies about God's faithfulness and goodness. It was a blessing to all.
