St. Matthew's UCC We are a welcoming Church at the edge of Hamburg, NY; we worship at 10am on Sundays. St.

We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, God still speaks through Holy Scripture, and we are called to be a Body of Christ, rejoice in Christ’s love and live out our faith! Matthew’s United Church of Christ is a community of faith, founded on the two-fold command of Jesus to love God and love neighbor. We aren’t interested in telling people how they should vote or who they can love. We believe church

is not for people who have all the answers or who have perfect lives. We belong to church because we’re hungry and in worship and community we find food for the journey. We believe that being the church is more than hymns and Sunday mornings; it’s service and care for those in need. Whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here.

Beloved Church Family,

it was announced this morning at Worship that my time serving as your Pastor is coming to an end; this was my final Sunday leading you in Worship. The Church Council and I have had several conversations and have come to an understanding in hopes that this change will help address some ongoing concerns. The Church Council will be sharing more information about “next steps” in the next several days; please pray for them as they continue to lead you.

I will be taking next Sunday off, but hope you will

It has been a deep and sincere honor and privilege to be called as your Pastor, and I will continue to hold you in my heart and my prayers as you continue your journey in faithful service to Christ.

What a joy it is to train some of our older children as Acolytes who can carry the Light of Christ into our Worship Services!

We're still enjoying our Summer Outdoor services, and we're planning to worship outside for Labor Day weekend (if the weather cooperates!) - so they have a few weeks to practice before we're back in our Sanctuary every Sunday at 10am for Worship!

Yesterday we talked about the Plan God gave Joshua as he began to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land - a plan reflected in Peter's words to the early Christians living in exile, and a plan *we* can draw from as *we* step towards the future and God's promises to us!
