This past month, leaders from 71 nations gathered in Alexandria, Minnesota for the first-ever Sender's Summit organized by the WAGF Mission Commission. It was a time for leaders to connect, pray, and spend days together, learning how they can further reach our world for Christ. Dick Brogden, Co-Founder of The Live Dead Movement, joined us and shared his impactful experience: "The 'Senders Summit' organized by Brad Walz was the most significant missions event in a decade. We're at a critical point for Gospel Access, and this Summit has united the Assemblies of God mission agencies towards finishing the task."

Join with us in celebration of Adult & Teen Challenge (ATC)’s 65-year anniversary!

On this day in 1958, ATC founder David Wilkerson went to New York after hearing the Lord tell him to go minister to a group of seven teenage gang members being tried for murder. After being escorted out of the court, David’s ensuing outreach to New York gangs eventually led to the development of ATC.

In the past 65 years, ATC has expanded to include over 220 residential programs, as well as approximately 65 Ready Now Recovery programs, designed to minister to men and women who struggle with a variety of life-controlling issues.

As we celebrate this milestone, pray with us for ATC. May the Lord continue to provide for, protect and lead them as they help others find divine freedom from bo***ge.

Today’s Throwback Thursday takes us back to the region of Africa where God has been moving powerfully for decades. Our Missionaries have and are still seeing God do miracles through baptisms, salvation, and unreached people groups hearing the gospel. We are so thankful for AGWM missionaries who paved the way so others can hear the gospel of Christ today.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

I sometimes think we don’t have faith that our prayers will be answered because we don’t really have faith in God. I don’t mean that we don’t believe that there is a God, or that Jesus is His Son, and our savior – in short, we do actually believe the elements of our Christianity. But when it comes to believing that God listens to our prayers and always gives an answer, our faith wavers.

We sometimes come to our time of prayer thinking that God is far distant, that He is occupied with other things, or other people, we do not have perfect confidence that He is always with us and always ready to hear our prayer. Sometimes, Shirley or I think the other one is in another room and call loudly, when in fact we are in the same room, but haven’t been noticed; our reply to the call is usually, “I’m right here”. When we call upon God, we need to understand that He is never distant from us but is always “right here”. And secondly, that He is not just sort of hanging around to keep tabs on us, but is continually asking, “how may I help you?”

KNOWING THIS, not merely wishing it, or thinking it might be true, but KNOWING that it is an absolute fact, based on God’s own given word, we are prepared to believe that He will grant our prayer request. We have Jesus’ own assurance that it is so. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark. 11:24). We often work very hard to believe in the prayer, when it is really a matter of believing God and being sure of His promises.

We have heard the angels, seen the star. We have heard the first gasp of the newborn. We are filled with joy. Merry Christmas.
