DEMENTIA AND COMMUNICATING WITH
THOSE WHO HAVE DEMENTIA

On Saturday, May 16, from 10:00 to Noon at Spirit of Christ, there will be a presentation by Colleen Fritsch, a Master Trainer with Dementia Friends of Minnesota.

ALL are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring friends or family.

Colleen's presentation is about dementia in general and communicating with the people who have dementia.

There will be "Pizza with Pastor" after the presentation.

The presentation will also be live-streamed.

As of 2026, an estimated 102,000 people aged 65 and older in Minnesota are living with Alzheimer's disease, which is not the only form of dementia, but it is the most common. Roughly 1 in 10 people aged 65 and older in Minnesota has Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is the 5th leading cause of death in Minnesota, with over 2,400 deaths annually. Chances are you know someone with a form of dementia, or you will know someone at some point.
