From the feast of Pentecost:

Of old the tongues were confounded because of the audacity in the building of the tower, but now the tongues are made to be wise because of the glory of the knowledge divine. For there God condemned the impious because of their offense, and here Christ hath enlightened the fishermen by the Spirit. At that time the confusion of tongues was wrought for punishment, but now is inaugurated the concord of tongues for our souls' salvation.

One of the hymns of Ascension:

Not being separated from the bosom of the Father, O most sweet Jesus, and having lived on earth as a man, thou wast taken up in glory today from the Mount of Olives. And having raised our fallen nature by thy compassion, thou didst seat it together with the Father. Wherefore, the heavenly orders of the bodiless ones were amazed at the wonder and stood in awe and astonishment. They were seized with trembling and magnified thy love for mankind. With them we also glorify thy condescension to us, and thine Ascension from us, entreating and saying unto thee: O thou who by thine Ascension didst fill thy disciples with infinite joy and the Theotokos who gave birth unto thee, by their prayers count us worthy of the joy of thy chosen ones, for the sake of thy mercy.

Pilgrimage to Hartshorne remembering the visits of St. Tikhon of Moscow: the intention was to bless the graves of the American Orthodox faithful who have gone before us, just as St. Tikhon himself did in Hartshorne in 1904, and also to help support this little, Oklahoma parish financially, in the process. Dozens of graves were blessed, the services were truly blessed, and the pilgrimage collected $2026 to give to Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Hartshorne. Not a bad trial run of the pilgrimage!
