September 12th 2021, the LaGrone congregation voted to dissafilate any connection with the UMC. The paper work was mailed 3 times to the conference offices, and discussed with local representatives The UMC chose to ignore the request.

Apparently there's been some rumors of misinformation floating around. We thought it might be helpful to share the Deed to LaGrone Chapel. This is a typed copy of the deed. The original (VOLUME X pg 52,Harrison County records) is difficult to read. If you read it, you will find a clear reversal clause, in the deed given.
It would seem David McKinney didn't deed the property free and clear,but rather expected the church be kept and maintained by the local congregation
which has been accomplished by the continuous congregation from 1866 until now. This could very well erase the religous trust clause. Making owning the property impossible.
This could also mean any sell of the property may be unlawful. This should be closely investigated by potential buyers.
We are not attorneys, and make no legal claims.All matters are for conversation only. The deed was the only legal document presented in court. It was presented by the congregation.

A Harrison County court has ruled a Baptist congregation must vacate an historical church property in Hallsville.

Hebron Baptist Church
Alpine Church of Christ
They have offered time and space in thier buildings to hold our services if needed. There is a third Church that may possibly be willing to do the same. What a tremendous blessing!! Thank you again from the LaGrone Chapel family.

We have had many asking what is next for our congregation.
Tomorrow morning we will get up and stand and serve together.
There are people who need us, and we are going to serve them and share the Gospel of Christ.
So if you're looking for us, we will be serving the homeless and less fortunate at the New gate mission on Mobberly St. Longview.
Sunday it will be business as usual. Sunday School at 10 Morning service at 11.
