We have heard from a couple of people that they have been emailed asking for gift cards, using the pastors or church’s name as a signature. We are so glad that they noticed something was not right and reached out. The emails are coming from a random email address so our email isn’t hacked but most likely, the sender is pulling public information including names and church name from social media or public sites. The church will NEVER email you asking for money so be on the lookout for these scams. Rule of thumb, look at the email address it’s coming from and that will usually be the clue you need (although an actual email can be hacked). Just in general, never give monetary info on any site or reach out personally if it’s showing from someone you know.
