Preaching from Acts 17: 16-34, Rev. Sally helps set the scene for us. Paul is in Athens, and is distressed at the number of idols he sees throughout the city. But he uses that reality, their reality, as the starting point for his famous Areopagus (Mars Hill) sermon. And, using the altar "To an unknown god" as his starting point, he outlines how our God does not live in shrines, that He gives all mortals "life and breath and all things."
