We share our gifts through our presence in the community by supporting our church's food pantry, which serve the hungry and needy in our very midst. We share our gifts through our prayer chain and hospital/shut-in/homebound visitation ministries which are the lifelines to keeping our congregation connected and integrated with one another. We share our gifts through yearly community outreach events. We share our gifts through creating intentional space each time we gather that people may have an experience with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Driving Directions:

Current location: 400 Orchid Drive

Day 2 — Walking, Not Just Knowing
Scripture: 3 John 1:4
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."

Many of us at New Horizon have followed Christ for years. We have attended Bible studies, worship services, Sunday school classes, and prayer gatherings. We have learned much about God.
But John reminds us that the goal is not simply knowing the truth.
The goal is walking in it.
Truth becomes visible when it changes the way we live.
It shows up when we forgive instead of holding grudges.
When we encourage instead of criticize.
When we choose kindness over convenience.
When we serve others even when we are tired.
In Haines City, where many people are working hard to make ends meet and many seniors are navigating health challenges or loneliness, the Church has an opportunity to demonstrate the truth of Christ in practical ways.

People may never read a Bible verse. But they will read our lives.
And often, our actions preach the gospel before our words ever do.

What is one truth from God's Word that you need to put into practice this week?

Let's act differently today:

Take a short prayer walk around your neighborhood and ask God to show you one person you can encourage in the coming days. This may be the day you are blown away by what God wants to do through you.

Let's pray,
Father, help me move beyond simply knowing Your truth. Help me live it, share it, and reflect it so others can see Jesus in me. Amen.

Day 2 — Walking in the Truth

Scripture: 3 John 1:4
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."

Did you know that walking and talking often help people remember information better than simply sitting and listening? Movement reinforces learning.
John says something similar spiritually. He does not celebrate that believers merely know the truth. He rejoices that they are walking in it.
Truth is not just information stored in our minds. It is transformation displayed through our lives.
People learn what we truly believe by observing how we treat others, how we respond under pressure, and how we love when it costs us something.
The gospel becomes visible when it moves from our heads into our hands and hearts.

What is one truth from Scripture that God is calling you to practice more intentionally right now?

How do we live this out today?:

Write one word from today's reading—such as "welcome," "truth," or "love"—on a sticky note and place it where you will see it throughout the day.

Let's pray,
Father, help me not only to know Your truth but to walk in it. Shape my actions so that others can see Christ through my life. Amen.

Day 1 — An Open Door

Scripture: 3 John 1:5–6
"Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you."

A study once found that people often decide within the first few minutes whether they feel welcome in a new environment. Long before they evaluate the message, they evaluate the atmosphere.
Gaius understood this truth. He did not simply believe the gospel; he practiced it. He opened his home, his resources, and his heart to people he barely knew. His hospitality became part of God's mission.

The same remains true today. Many people are carrying invisible burdens. Some feel lonely in crowded rooms. Others wonder whether anyone notices them. A simple welcome can become a powerful witness to Christ.
Who might God be placing in your path today that needs to experience His welcome through you?

Who first made you feel welcomed into the family of God, and how might you offer that same gift to someone else?

How can we live this out in our faith?:
Place an extra chair at your dinner table tonight as a visual reminder to pray for someone you could invite to share a meal or conversation this week.

Let's pray,
Lord Jesus, thank You for welcoming me when I was a stranger to Your grace. Open my eyes to people who need encouragement and belonging. Help me reflect Your hospitality today. Amen.

DAY 4 — WE ARE THE CONTINUING STORY

“You are… ambassadors for Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:20

The Book of Acts Is Still Being Written
The Book of Acts ends abruptly.
Not because the story was finished.
But because the mission continues.
The same Spirit that empowered the early church is still moving today.
Still healing.
Still sending.
Still transforming lives.
And now, the story continues through us.
Through ordinary believers who choose:
compassion over apathy,
courage over fear,
mission over maintenance,
and love over division.
Every act of Spirit-led kindness becomes part of God’s ongoing story.
At New Horizon Church, we are not merely inheriting the church Jesus built.
We are participating in the church Jesus is still building.
-----------
“The church exists by mission as fire exists by burning.”
— Emil Brunner
Application
Ask yourself:
“How can I help New Horizon become a church that moves beyond its walls?”
Then act on one answer this week:
serve,
invite,
encourage,
mentor,
reconcile,
or show hospitality.
The Spirit moves through willing hearts.

Reflection Question
If someone watched your life closely this week, where would they see evidence that the Spirit is moving through you?

Let's pray,

Father, thank You for allowing us to participate in Your mission. Help us become a church that reflects the heart of Jesus to Haines City and beyond. May our lives carry hope into lonely places, healing into broken places, and love into divided places. Use us as living witnesses that Your Spirit is still moving beyond the walls. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 3 — SENT BEYOND COMFORT

“So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit…”
— Acts 13:4

God Often Calls Us Beyond What Feels Safe
The church at Antioch loved Barnabas and Saul.
Yet the Holy Spirit told them to send them out.
Healthy churches do not cling tightly to comfort.
They release people into mission.
And the same is true personally.

Sometimes God calls us:
toward difficult conversations,
uncomfortable compassion,
inconvenient generosity,
or relationships we would normally avoid.
Growth rarely happens inside comfort zones.
But when we obey the Spirit, God uses ordinary acts of faithfulness to accomplish extraordinary things.
The mission field may not be across the ocean.
It may be across the street.

“Comfort is the enemy of mission.”
— Francis Chan

Application
Today, take one intentional step outside your comfort zone:
call someone lonely,
encourage someone grieving,
pray with someone hurting,
invite someone to lunch,
or reconcile with someone distant.
Simple obedience creates space for the Spirit to move.

Reflection Question
What fear or comfort might be keeping you from fully following where the Spirit is leading?

Let's pray,
God, give me courage to follow You beyond what feels easy or safe. Help me trust that Your Spirit will guide me, strengthen me, and use me. Teach me to value mission more than comfort and obedience more than convenience. Amen.

DAY 2 — THE GOSPEL IS FOR ALL PEOPLE

“I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh.” — Joel 2:28

Pentecost Broke Down Walls
Pentecost was more than a miracle of languages.
It was God announcing that His love would no longer stay confined to one culture, one ethnicity, one background, or one social class.

The Spirit shattered barriers.
In a divided world, the church is called to become a living picture of reconciliation.
At New Horizon, this matters deeply.
Different generations worship together.
Different stories worship together.
Different cultures worship together.
That is not accidental.
That is a glimpse of the Kingdom of God.
The church Jesus built always grows wider before it grows larger.

“There is no such thing as a single-issue gospel because there are no single-issue people.”— Eugene Cho

Application
Today, intentionally engage someone who is different from you:
a different generation,
culture,
political viewpoint,
life experience,
or background.
Listen before speaking.
Love before assuming.
The Spirit grows the church when we make room at the table.
Reflection Question
What walls—visible or invisible—might God be asking you to tear down in your heart?

Let's pray,
Lord Jesus, forgive me for the ways I sometimes limit Your love to people who feel familiar or comfortable. Expand my heart so I can love people the way You love them. Teach me to become an agent of reconciliation, grace, and welcome. Amen.

DAY 1 — BUILT TO MOVE

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses…” — Acts 1:8

The Church Was Never Meant to Stand Still
The earliest followers of Jesus began in fear behind closed doors. Yet when the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, fear gave way to movement.
The Spirit did not empower the church merely to survive.
The Spirit empowered the church to expand.
Too often, we reduce church to a place we attend instead of a mission we embody. But throughout Acts, the Spirit continually pushes God’s people outward—toward hurting neighbors, divided communities, lonely hearts, and forgotten people.

At New Horizon Church, God is still calling ordinary believers to carry extraordinary love beyond the walls.
The Gospel moves when God’s people move.

“The Holy Spirit is a missionary Spirit, and so a Spirit-filled church is a missionary church.”
— John Stott

Today, ask God to help you see your everyday spaces as mission fields:
your workplace,
your neighborhood,
your school,
your family,
your conversations.
Do not wait for a “big ministry opportunity.”
The Spirit often works through small acts of faithful love.

Reflection Question
Where might God be calling you to move beyond comfort and toward people this week?

Let's pray,
Holy Spirit, awaken me from spiritual passivity. Open my eyes to the people around me who need hope, compassion, and encouragement. Help me remember that the church is not just where I go—it is who I am. Send me beyond my comfort so others may experience the love of Christ. Amen.
