Haines City Church of God "A Church Where the Spirit Moves and People Grow." We are a Church of God (Cleveland, TN) congregation located in Haines City, Florida.

We are a body of believers that unite together weekly to minister to the needs of one another and to function as a community of faith much like the church of the New Testament. We are a church where each and every person can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When you enter our church, you will find a family-like atmosphere where God and family comes first. Trust God When the Door Closes
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Devotional: Sometimes moving forward begins with accepting that something has ended. A door closes. A season changes. An opportunity disappears. A relationship comes to an end. And we immediately ask, “Why?” But faith doesn't require us to understand everything God is doing. Sometimes God closes a door because He knows what is on the other side of it. Sometimes what feels like rejection is actually protection. Sometimes what feels like an ending is preparation for a beginning. We often want God to explain the entire journey before we take the next step. But God says, “Trust Me.” You don't have to understand everything. You simply have to know that the One directing your path is faithful. Don't spend so much time staring at the door that closed that you miss the door God is opening. A GPS may tell you to turn because it sees a route you cannot see from where you are sitting. You may not understand why the direction changed, but you trust the system because it has a larger view of the journey. God sees what you cannot see.
Reflection: Is there a closed door you need to stop questioning and start trusting God about?

Prayer: Father, help me trust You when I don't understand. When You close a door, give me the wisdom to recognize that You may be redirecting me. Keep me from returning to what You have closed. Direct my steps toward Your purpose. In Jesus' name, amen.

Carry This with You: I can trust God even when I don't understand God.

Don’t Go Back to Egypt
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Devotional: One of the greatest temptations after experiencing change is the temptation to return to what is familiar. Israel had been delivered from Egypt, but when the wilderness became difficult, they began thinking about going back. Why? Because Egypt was familiar. Sometimes familiarity can feel safer than freedom. But God did not save you so you could remain chained to your past. In Christ, you are a new creation. That means your past does not have the authority it once had over you. The old you does not have to control the new you. The habits don't have to control you. The bitterness doesn't have to control you. The fear doesn't have to control you. The failures don't have to define you. You have been made new. Don't allow a difficult season to convince you that the old life was better. Remember what God delivered you from. Remember the chains He broke. Remember the grace that found you. Then declare: “I'm not going back.”

Reflection: What part of your old life are you tempted to return to when life becomes difficult?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for making me new. Help me resist the temptation to return to the things You delivered me from. Remind me that the old life no longer owns me. Give me strength to walk in the freedom You have given me. Amen.

God Didn’t Bring You This Far to Leave You Here
Scripture Reading: Psalm 37:23–24
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.”

Devotional: There will be moments when you wonder how you are going to make it. You may find yourself facing circumstances you never expected. The road ahead may seem uncertain, and you may even question whether you are going in the right direction. But remember this: God is ordering your steps. The fact that you have encountered an obstacle does not mean God has abandoned you. The fact that you have fallen does not mean God has finished with you. The fact that you don't understand the road does not mean God doesn't know where it leads. Israel stood at the Red Sea and thought they were trapped. But what looked like the end was actually the beginning of another demonstration of God's power. God didn't bring you this far to abandon you at the edge of your next challenge. Look back at your life and remember His faithfulness. You are still here because God has been with you. And if He has carried you this far, you can trust Him with the road ahead. A child walking with a parent may not understand where they are going. The child doesn't need to know the destination because they trust the hand holding theirs. Faith works the same way. You may not know where the next step will lead, but you know who is holding your hand.

Reflection: Where do you need to remind yourself today that God is still ordering your steps?

Prayer: Father, thank You for bringing me this far. When I become afraid of what is ahead, remind me that You are ordering my steps. Help me trust Your direction even when I cannot understand the road. I believe You are not finished with me. Amen.

Step Into Your Purpose
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works...”

Devotional: Esther didn't know how her story would end when she walked into the king's presence. She couldn't control the king's response. She couldn't control Haman. She couldn't control the outcome. But she could control one thing: Her obedience. That's faith. Faith doesn't always know the outcome. Faith knows the God who holds the outcome. Esther could say: “If I perish, I perish.” She wasn't being reckless. She was surrendering. She was saying: “My obedience to God is more important than my comfort.” That's where purpose becomes real. God may have already positioned you. He may have given you experiences you don't understand. He may have brought you through things you didn't choose. He may have placed people around you that you didn't expect. But perhaps He has been preparing you all along. The outline says: “He develops you before He deploys you. He positions you before He explains you.” Joseph didn't understand the pit. He didn't understand the prison. He didn't understand Egypt. But later he could look back and see that God had been working through all of it. Perhaps God has been working in your life longer than you realize. And perhaps your “such a time as this” is now. You may not be standing before a king. But somebody is standing before you. Somebody is listening to you. Somebody is watching you. Somebody needs your testimony. Somebody needs encouragement. Somebody needs your prayers. Somebody needs to see what a Spirit-filled believer looks like. This is your moment. Don't miss it.

Reflection: What is God asking you to do that you have been putting off? Today, move from preparation to participation.

Prayer: Father, I surrender my life to Your purpose. Use my home. Use my family. Use my workplace. Use my gifts. Use my testimony. Use my influence. Use my experiences. Use everything You have placed in my hands. Give me the courage to say: “I will go.” I don't know everything that will happen. I don't know exactly how the story will end. But I know you hold the outcome. I will not allow fear to make my decision. I will not allow comfort to make my decision. I will not allow insecurity to make my decision. I will not allow my past to make my decision. I will let obedience make my decision. Holy Spirit fill me with fresh power. And when my moment comes, help me step into my purpose. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Carry This with You: You don't have to know how the story ends to take the next step of obedience.

This May Be Your Moment
Scripture Reading: Esther 4:13–16
“...for such a time as this?”- Esther 4:14

Devotional: Esther had been positioned. She had been warned. She had been challenged. She had prayed. She had fasted. But eventually, she had to act. There comes a moment when: Preparation must become participation. There comes a moment when: Prayer must become obedience. There comes a moment when: Faith must become action. The danger is that we can spend our entire lives waiting for the “right moment.” Waiting for more money. More confidence. More experience. More time. Better circumstances. Another opportunity. But what if the moment you're waiting for is the moment you're already standing in? What if this is your moment? What if the person you're supposed to reach is already in your life? What if the opportunity you've been praying for is already in front of you? What if the door you've been asking God to open is already open? Sometimes your moment won't look like a blessing. For Esther, it looked like a crisis. Her opportunity came wrapped in danger. Her purpose emerged from a problem. Maybe your moment is hidden inside an ordinary Tuesday. Maybe your moment is a conversation. A phone call. A prayer. An invitation. An act of service. A word of encouragement. A chance to witness. A step of obedience. Don't miss your moment because you're waiting for another one.

Reflection: What opportunity is God placing in front of you right now? What is one step you can take today?

Prayer: Father, open my eyes to recognize the moments You have placed before me. Don't let me spend my life waiting for a better opportunity while ignoring the opportunity in front of me. Give me discernment. Give me courage. Give me faith to act. When You say move, help me move. When You say speak, help me speak. When You say serve, help me serve. I don't want to miss my moment. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Holy Ghost Gives Power for the Call
Scripture Reading: Acts 1:8
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me...”

Devotional: There is a powerful connection between Esther's courage and the Pentecostal experience. Esther needed courage to step before the king. The early disciples needed courage to step into their assignment. And Jesus promised His disciples something: Power. Before Pentecost, Peter was afraid. He denied Jesus. The disciples hid. They weren't naturally fearless people. Then Acts 2 happened. The Holy Ghost came. And the same Peter who once struggled to admit that he knew Jesus stood before thousands and boldly proclaimed Christ. What changed? The Holy Ghost empowered him. We don't simply need more information. We need empowerment. We don't simply need to know what God wants. We need the power to obey what God wants. Think about a cell phone. It may have an incredible camera. It may have powerful software. It may have countless capabilities. But if the battery is dead, its potential cannot be fully realized. God has given you gifts, experiences, opportunities, and influence. But we need the power of the Holy Ghost to help us use what God has given us for His purposes. Pentecost is power for purpose.

Reflection: Where do you need the Holy Spirit to give you courage today?

Prayer: Holy Spirit, Fill me with fresh power. Where I am afraid, give me courage. Where I am weak, give me strength. Where I am uncertain, give me wisdom. Where I am hesitant, give me faith. Empower me to be the witness You have called me to be. I don't want to attempt God's assignment in my own strength. I need Your power. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Carry This with You: God doesn't just give you an assignment; He gives you the power to fulfill it.

Courage Doesn’t Mean You Aren’t Afraid
Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:9
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Devotional: Esther was afraid. That's important. The Bible doesn't tell us that she suddenly became fearless. She simply decided that fear would not make her decision. “I will go.” That's courage. Courage isn't saying: “I'm not scared.” Courage says: “I'm scared, but I'm going anyway.” You can have butterflies in your stomach and still have faith in your heart. You can feel inadequate and still obey. You can have questions and still move forward. You can be nervous and still say yes to God. Consider the first time someone learns to ride a bicycle. They may be afraid of falling. Their hands may shake. They may not feel ready. But eventually, someone lets go. The rider wobbles. Then they begin moving. And suddenly they discover: “I can do this.” Sometimes you won't discover the courage you need until you take the first step. God doesn't always call people who feel ready. He makes ready the people He calls. Moses didn't feel ready. Gideon didn't feel ready. Jeremiah didn't feel ready. David didn't look ready. Esther didn't feel ready. But God was ready. And that's what mattered.

Reflection: What has fear been telling you not to do? What would obedience look like if you refused to let fear make the decision?

Prayer: Lord, I admit that sometimes I am afraid. But I don't want fear controlling my decisions. Give me courage to obey You even when I don't feel ready. Help me trust that Your presence is greater than my inadequacy. When fear says “stay,” help me hear Your voice saying “go.” In Jesus' name, Amen.

Carry This with You: Courage isn't the absence of fear. Courage is obedience in spite of fear.

Don’t Let Comfort Cancel Your Calling
Scripture Reading: Esther 4:10–16
“I will go in unto the king... and if I perish, I perish.”- Esther 4:16

Devotional: Esther had something to lose. She had security. She had status. She had comfort. She had become queen. Then Mordecai challenged her to risk it all. She knew what could happen if she approached the king without being summoned. She could die. Her hesitation was understandable. But eventually, Esther realized: Her comfort could not become more important than her calling. That's a challenge for all of us. We love God's will when it is comfortable. We love serving when it fits our schedule. We love witnessing when there is no possibility of rejection. We love stepping out when the outcome is guaranteed. But faith begins where comfort ends. Imagine standing at the edge of a swimming pool. You can spend all day talking about swimming. You can watch other people swim. You can read books about swimming. But eventually, you have to get into the water. At some point, preparation has to become participation. Following God will sometimes require you to leave the comfortable place and step into the uncertain place. The calling is worth the discomfort.

Reflection: Where might comfort be keeping you from obeying God?

Prayer: Father, don’t allow me to become so comfortable that I stop hearing Your voice. Give me courage to sacrifice when necessary. Help me choose obedience over convenience. When You call me beyond what is familiar, help me say yes. I don't want comfort to become more important than calling. Use my life for Your purposes. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Carry This with You: Don't build a life so comfortable that you cannot hear God's call.
