Scripture: Ephesians 3:14-21

Thought: Did you know that you have unlimited potential in life, through the power of God? The Word of God declares that through the power of God’s Spirit we have the potential to achieve greater things than we can ever imagine. The God of all heaven strengthens us by His Spirit to achieve the wonderful works of God in our lives. Paul declared to the church as Ephesus that God is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or thing, according to the power that works in us.” Little is much when God is in it and with God we have unlimited potential. Never thing less of your ability to accomplish something that God had declared will have in your life. Never give in and settle for less than what God has in store for you. Know that you have great potential with God. God will see you through the greatest challenges in life and will give you “the riches of his glory.” Today, and every day, know and trust that God will provide for you in every season of life. With God, nothing is impossible!

Prayer: (Adapted from the today’s scripture reading) I pray that out of your glorious riches you may strengthen me with power through your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I will be rooted and established in love, have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Amen.

Scripture: Lamentations 3:22-24
Thought: Have you ever faced a season in life where you felt weary, discouraged, or uncertain about what tomorrow might hold? The writer of Lamentations understood those feelings well. In the midst of grief, loss, and hardship, he declared a powerful truth: “His mercies are new every morning.” What an incredible promise for believers today. No matter what happened yesterday, God’s mercy is available again today. His grace has not run out, His compassion has not failed, and His faithfulness remains steadfast and sure. Every sunrise is a reminder that God has given us another opportunity to trust Him, serve Him, and walk in His purpose for our lives. Sometimes we become overwhelmed by the burdens and struggles of life, but we must remember that our hope is not found in our circumstances; our hope is found in the Lord. When we place our confidence in Him, we can face each new day with peace and assurance knowing that God is still in control. Great is His faithfulness!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your goodness, mercy, and faithfulness in my life. Thank you that your compassion never fails and that your mercies are new every morning. Help me to trust you even when life feels uncertain or difficult. Give me strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Let my life reflect your love and grace to those around me. Thank you for always being with me and for guiding my steps each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture: Ruth 2
Thought: Several years ago, actor Kevin Costner starred in one of my favorite movies, “Field of Dreams.” Costner was approached by a voice that declared, “if you will build it they will come.” In the book of Ruth, Ruth and Naomi had lost everything around them. Yet, they knew that God would provide for them. As Ruth went out to glean from the fields, picking up the scraps that had been left behind from the harvesters, she met a man whose name was Boaz. It was a field of dreams. Costner, who played the role of character Ray Costello, knew that something amazing would happen if he would destroy his corn field to build a baseball field. Through the corn maze, great baseball players would return to the game they loved so much. For Ruth, it meant that the kinsman redeemer, Boaz, would restore everything back that had been lost in her life. Today, we must be willing to discover our “field of dreams.” The place that God brings us to so that he can accomplish his divine will in our lives. For Ruth, the field of dreams was more than a Hollywood theatrical performance it was a reality of God’s divine will come into fruition in her life. Allow God’s voice to speak to you and look for divine moments in which a “field of dreams” becomes a reality in your life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, grant unto me the wisdom to see your hand at work in my life. Give me the ears to hear your voice prompting me through life. Order my steps that I will walk in your complete and perfect will for my life. May I honor you in all that I do and serve to honor your power and presence in my life. You turned everything around for good. I am amazed and humbled at your kindness and grace, your power and sovereign authority. I pray that I will not stray from the path of peace, nor rely on my own abilities, but trust you in all things. Help me to live my life in active dependence on you alone. Use my life I pray, to forward your plans and purposes in whatever way You choose, and may I live each day to your honor. Amen.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Thought: This is the preamble to the recitation of the law in Deuteronomy, and includes the text of “the Shema,” what has become the central prayer of Judaism, and which Jesus identifies as the greatest commandment in Matthew 22:36 and Mark 12:29-30. Jesus distilled the entire Law to two commandments. The Rabbis’, on the other hand, said, “To keep so many laws is angel’s work,” meaning there were so many laws and interpretations of the laws that it was impossible to keep them. When a person tried to keep one of the laws perfectly, they would end up breaking another one. They had endless debates as to which law was the most important commandment. But Jesus did not hesitate or pause before He answered. It was simple to Him, and it should have been simple to them too. The bottom line is always the human heart: our will, our emotions, the place from which our choices come. Jesus was pointing to the motives behind the actions. Are believers obeying the word of the Law out of duty; or is the Law in their hearts, and their actions are following? How do we get God’s word in our hearts? He places His commands into our hearts as a result of our surrendering to Him. What God most wants from us is our heart and love. We usually think that God demands many other things from us, like our time, money, or submission. But what God really desires is our hearts. When we do love the Lord with all of our heart, soul, and might then everything else falls into place.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the Word of God and all the wisdom and instructions it contains. I pray that I may abide in Christ and He in me and that my life would be a testimony to your goodness and grace. May my inner and outward actions, attitude, words, and motives reflect a heart that loves the Lord with all my heart and soul and mind and strength - to your honor and glory, This I ask in Jesus name Amen.

Scripture: Romans 8:1-39

Thought: What do you do when you are down to nothing? Romans chapter eight contains some powerful truths as it relates to the Word of God. If we will be willing to live in the Spirit of God, as well as being led by the Spirit, we will be more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. The overwhelming power and glory of God illustrates to us through the power of the gospel that God will work all things out for our good and His glory. Even when the world around us seems to be struggling and grappling with the tribulations that arise in a fallen world, God always has the last answer. There is power in the Spirit-filled life that allows us to walk in victory. We must realize that as Christians we are no longer under the condemnation of sin. We have been liberated by the blood of Jesus Christ and freed to live our lives as joint-heirs with Jesus. Paul declares, “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Something great is prepared for those who endure until the end. When you feel like you are down to nothing, remember that God is up to something. He is looking out for your good and he will take care of you. How do I know? The Bible tells me so!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for taking on my sin and sacrificing your life in place of mine in order to make me righteous. Please help me to turn away from my sinful nature and live by the Spirit of God that is in me. I praise you for conquering death and sin so that I can be one of your children. Father in Heaven, I am looking forward to when your glory is revealed in me. Thank you for the gift of salvation that you have given me. I continue to place my faith and hope in you. Thank you for your Holy Spirit. There have been many times that I have cried out to you but was not able to speak the words in my heart. I know that your Spirit interceded for me during those times. Lord Jesus, I am amazed by you. I can praise you even in the storms of life knowing that you will make everything turn out good in the end. I know that you have a plan for my life and I can trust that you will guide me in the right direction. God is for me so who can be against me! What a great promise you have given! I know that nothing can separate you from me. Your love is stronger than all things in creation. I praise you for loving me so much! Amen.

Scripture: 1 Samuel 1

Thought: Everyone thought there was something wrong with Hannah went she went into the temple to pray. She was there pouring out her soul to God and giving Him everything she had. Despite everything that was going on around her, like Abraham and Sarah, she wanted the promise of a son. She knew that there was power in persistent prayer. Hannah knew to trust God and to open up her wildest imaginations to see what God would do with a faithful, persistent prayer warrior. She knew that God would give her His best, if she would give her best back to God. That was the agreement and both parties fulfilled their end of the deal. Samuel went out to become a mighty prophet of God as an important part of Israel’s history. God honors the prayers of a woman who was persistent in prayer.

Prayer: Lord, help me to remain persistent in all that I do. Let me never give up on the dreams, desires and plans that you have for my life. Let me continue to open up my heart and pour out my requests to you. Grant me the determination that Hannah had to trust your will for her life and know that I will give my all to you. Lord, hear my prayer, even as repetitive as it may seem, for it is my prayer to you, O Lord. Amen.
