I’m reading the Bible in a year. If you choose to do this, and I really think everyone should, get a Bible Study or use an app that will have you read it in chronological order. It really helps everything make sense, like when you get into the Prophets of the old testament.

Anyway, we just started Deuteronomy where Moses is about to lead the Jews into the Promised Land. He is giving them all a synopsis of the last 38 years when something hit me. God was giving them the promised land, but they were going to have to fight for it. All throughout Genesis to this point, God was leading them, but they had to fight and battle (because there is evil to fight).

Start with Genesis, my favorite story of Joseph. His brothers sold him into slavery to get rid of his annoying self. Joseph held a high position as a slave, only to be lied about, thrown in prison and forgotten. But he never gave up faith because he knew God had a plan. Then there’s the Exodus. God told them the were his chosen people. They had to fight in many battles along the way to get to the land of milk and honey, but God was always there. Then there is David. He was chosen to be the second King of Israel, but before that King number 1, Saul literally chased him around the desert to kill him. (Here’s a side note, David was given a wonderful opportunity to kill Saul when he was alone in a cave and he didn’t. Great story about relieving yourself in a cave.)

So my point is never give up hope, because no matter how long it takes, whatever his happening God is with you. Just listen and pray. They say the people who are closest to you speak in a whisper. So, be quiet and listen to the whispers. And pray.

I saw The Chosen "movie" (Season 4, Episodes 1-3).
1) It is LONG, like 3 hours. There is a 10 minute intermission in which I ran to the girls room and ran back.
2) The handle John the Baptist very tastefully.
3) I was an Atticus fan, thinking he would convert. I'm not his fan anymore.
4) It handles the 70 X 7 really well.
5) I have a new fav phrase from Matthew.

GO AND SEE IT. If you've missed any seasons, you will still understand the storyline and people.

And miraculously I did not become a mouth breather. But I did sit at the end of the movie stunned by what happened at the end. Didn't see THAT coming.

It’s been a while since I posted here. I apologize, but I felt the Spirit open my eyes to something. I was reading the scripture about Jesus walking out on the water, Matthew 14: 24-33. Jesus walked out on the sea to come to the Apostles in the boat. Peter, being Peter, wanted to join Jesus on the water. I don’t know if this is being arrogant or showing faith. I couldn’t imagine seeing Jesus on the water and wanting to come out. Now if Jesus called me to join Him, I might go, but to say, “If it’s you, have me join you?” Of course we know the story, Peter got out there, when he realized what was happening he panicked and sank. Jesus reached out and saved him, as he does to us every time we stumble and lose our sight, our focus, or our faith. Then when they got back in the boat, he stopped the storm.

I just wonder, why didn’t Jesus stop the wind when Peter was coming out to the boat, or when Peter began to sink? Why did he wait until they got in the boat? Because Jesus doesn’t stop the wind. He doesn’t stop the challenge, but Jesus is there with you through the challenge. The wind is the lesson, the change, the challenge you must go through to grow in faith – to grow as a person. And when it is safe and you’ve learned your lesson, Jesus will stop the wind or the storm, but only after you’ve learned the lesson. But He will never leave you. Just keep your eyes on Jesus.
