As I sit in my stand this morning, the word commitment comes to mind. When it comes to hunting a hunter is committed to going out day after day to get that trophy buck he’s been after. Same as an athlete putting in hours upon hours of training to achieve the goals he has set to accomplish.
But when it comes to God and his word, many people have a difficult time staying committed following Jesus and the word of God. To live a life dedicated to Christ you have to put aside the things that separate you from the plan God has for your life and stay committed to your walk with the Lord.
I made a commitment in my life to serve the Lord and live a life following the word of Jesus Christ. I’m not perfect and though I may fall short of the Glory of God every day. I know that he is a God of Grace and Mercy. My Faith in him is unwavering I will remain faithful to his word and teachings because I made that commitment to God when I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior.
So today I ask you to search your heart and if Jesus isn’t in your life then I pray that you ask him into your heart and seek forgiveness for your past and make a commitment to follow him before your opportunity is gone.

If God is telling you to move then move. But if he’s not giving you the word, then stay planted firmly where you are and continue to let God grow in your life

Borrowed and OUCH!!!!

What would it look like if the disciples valued worship and community like many believers do their church gatherings?

Peter - "My mother-in-law came in for the weekend."

Andrew - "I was up kinda late last night."

James (the son of Zebedee) - "Really needed some 'me' time."

John - "I was there last week. Besides, I'm not really being fed."

Philip - "Finally had a sunny day to hit the lake."

Bartholomew - "Had brunch scheduled with my Uncle Zed."

Thomas - "I doubt it would have been any good today."

Matthew - "I had to get my taxes done."

James (the son of Alphaeus) - "My dad (Alphaeus) wanted to fish today."

Thaddaeus - "The kids needed a rest day."

Simon - "I didn't hear my alarm. Because I didn't set it. Because I don't have one."

Judas - "Getting tired of hearing the same old message."

Going to church is not about checking a religious box off your "make God happy" list. It's about being invested in the lives of others. Participating in the mission of the gospel. Loving and being loved.

Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo experience. Pull up a seat at the table. It is a level table and there is room for all of us.
