🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day!

As the flag waves across our land today, we give thanks to God for the freedoms we enjoy—freedoms secured by sacrifice and ultimately rooted in the grace of Jesus Christ.

May we never take these blessings for granted. Let’s pray for our nation, honor those who serve, and live as people of faith, hope, and love.

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”�— 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NLT)

Grateful for this country and the One who holds it all.

I've been thinking a lot lately about perspectives—good ones and unhelpful ones.

Good perspectives, even the cautious or questioning ones, are gifts from God. They come from wisdom, experience, and a genuine desire to protect what matters. They help us count the cost and lean harder on the Lord. But perspectives can become unhelpful when fear, old wounds, or assumptions about motives close our hearts to what God might be doing new among us.

My prayer is that every one of us—me included—will bring our perspectives to Jesus first, hold them with open hands, and let Him refine them.

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend” (Proverbs 27:17 NLT). We need each other’s perspectives if we’re going to walk this road well together.

🙏 A Word of Clarity & Hope

I want to be clear: we are still in a season of exploration and testing. No final decision has been made.

We’ve been thoughtfully merging systems — websites, databases, Planning Center — and testing the ability for the message to go live from Ringgold to Frederick while keeping both campuses’ outward identities in place. These practical steps are allowing us to learn and discern more effectively as we move forward.

We present with hope and vision because spiritual leaders are called to lead by faith, not by fear. If we only spoke in flat or negative terms, we’d sow doubt instead of inviting you to pray and participate. We want to model the kind of trust that honors the God who goes before us.

We’re stepping out like Peter — trusting the One who called us. When Jesus said to Peter, “Come,” Peter stepped out of the boat and onto the waves. In the same way, we are responding to the voice of our Savior, keeping our eyes fixed on Him even when the way ahead feels uncertain. He is faithful, and He will sustain us.

Trophies in the Dumpster

Friends,

Those once-shiny trophies now lying forgotten in the rusty dumpster tell the whole story: every earthly trophy eventually becomes rubbish.
The promotions, applause, achievements, and accolades we chase all end up the same—discarded and worthless.

Paul saw it clearly. After meeting Jesus, he called all his impressive gains “garbage” compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ (Philippians 3:8).

Nothing this world offers can compare to a personal relationship with Jesus. He alone is the treasure that never fades or ends up in the dumpster.

Let the trophies go. Cling to Christ.

He is enough—always has been.
