“Take A Moment” - September 6, 2026—Loving God, your commands are simple. You ask that we love each other, and do no harm to each other. It might seem at first black and white, but ultimately our world is filled with gray. We want to do one thing, and yet, anoth-er causes us to have questions. Help us move away from making things too complex. Fill us with a simple passion for doing what you ask of each of us. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

Take A Moment” - August 30, 2026—We confess, God of truth, that we have subscribed to the falsehoods that surround us. We have given our heart to the call for vengeance that rises up out of our culture in opposition to peace and justice. We have repeated half-truths and outright lies about others and about other peoples. Yet you call us to return good for evil, to give food and drink to our ene-mies, to bless those who curse us. You chal-lenge us to turn the world upside down by shining the bright light of love at the core of darkness that enshrouds so many. Forgive us for having ignored you. Inspire us to listen and live your written word, and your living word, Jesus. Amen.

“Take A Moment” - August 23, 2026—Praise, honor, glory, and thanksgiving, we praise today for the gift you have given in each heart, in each voice, through every hand, with every aim and aspiration, for you have crafted us individually, blessing us with dif-ferent gifts which, when combined, make for the whole body of Christ. May we, trans-formed by your Spirit, cherish each other as we are, so we may cease to seek to be con-formed to some nonexistent standard, but be set free to worship you as a blessed people of peace. Amen.

“Take A Moment” - August 16, 2026—Hear our prayer, God who acts. In the storms of our lives we reach out to you. In danger of being overwhelmed by the pressures, the distrac-tions, even the gadgets that inundate our lives, may we find peace, clarity, and simplicity in Jesus. Reveal your will for our lives in the words spoken in this service, as well as in the songs and in the silences that we share. Trust-ing in your presence, we base our hope in you. Amen.

“Take A Moment” - August 9, 2026—We confess to you, O God, and before one another that we have sinned. We often speak of your constant presence and we even talk of your omnipresence. Yet when things get scary, we often forget our beliefs and let our fear rule over us. It is so much easier to believe you are with us when things are going well. It is so
easy for us to assure others in their fear when
we are untouched by their plight. Forgive us our self-centered ways that call our fears real and dismiss the fears of others. Forgive us our quickness to forget that you are always with us. By the power of your Spirit, fill us again with the courage to face our fears and thereby find that you are always with us. Amen.

“Take A Moment” - August 2, 2026—Come to us, O Lord — you who created the moun-tains, silent and immovable. Ease the pound-ing of our hearts, as we recall those things in life we most fear. Quiet our anxious minds. Steady our frenetic, hurried pace with a calm-ing vision of the eternal reach of time. Give to us, amidst the confusion and clamor of the day, the calmness of the everlasting hills. Teach us the art of seeing the world as you see it: as a place of beauty and wonder. Most of all, teach us to trust you in all things: knowing that, truly, you are our keeper. Amen.

“Take A Moment” - July 26, 2026 - Search- er of Hearts, you have brought us to this place, not to scold us or condemn us, but to embrace us with your forgiveness; to comfort us with your hope. Heart of God, you cast out your net so that all might be brought into your kingdom; your grace is hidden deep within us, that it might be revealed in our lives. Com- panion Spirit, when we cannot pray, you whisper from our hearts, lifting us to the One from whom nothing can separate us. God in Community, Holy in One, hear us as we pray. AMEN.

“Take A Moment” - July 19, 2026 - Father, we thank you today for your rich blessings on us in the form of our Christian heritage. We thank you for the saints of old who suffered and struggled to be your messengers and to be our examples. We thank you for parents and for teachers and pastors and for all who have been your instruments to enrich and to uplift our lives. We thank you for every noble, uplifting influence that has made our lives better. In this time of worship we bring our lives and place them on the altar of service that we might be used by your love and by your power that others might be blessed and brought into a knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Help us to recognize that all we are and all we have belong to our Creator and Redeemer and that we are but managers and overseers. Help us to be faithful in using what you have placed under our care. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
