The economy of kindness is a principle of the Christian faith, of most all of the world religions and philosophies in fact, so let us remember to practice the economy of kindness in our everyday lives during Lent and throughout the year, especially in times such as this.

Our God, the God of the broken pieces, sees masterpieces!

What feels broken in your hands is not broken in God’s. He doesn’t discard the shattered places... He redeems them. 🙌 Every piece of your story is being shaped into something meaningful, beautiful, and whole. You are not ruined. You are being restored. ❤️ “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11

A call to all Christians, people of faith, secularists, humanists, atheists, and humans of all types, to practice kindness, compassion, and empathy [i.e. the Golden Rule, the Great Command, the Principle of Humanity] regardless of religious views (religious or not religious, faith or no faith). It is just a good humane practice in general for all humanity.

Treat others the way you desire to be treated, with love, compassion, kindness, and empathy. Though some may say that "The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy. The empathy exploit. They're exploiting a bug in Western civilization, which is the empathy response," and go on to argue that is has been "weaponized" and is "suicidal" to civilization, all of the major world religions have been rooted in empathy. Without empathy or love, we have nothing. Those that argue empathy has been weaponized and will be the death of civilization are really arguing that with empathy they can't be as greedy as they would like to be or that regulations set forth to ensure the earth, Milky Way galaxy, and universe's future lowers their profit margins and that their profits are more important that civilizations future. Yet, others have, like Hannah Arendt, provided us with a prophetic message regarding the truth about empathy, "The death of human empathy is one of the earliest and most telling signs of a culture about to fall into barbarism."

Always stand for compassion and empathy (love) of ALL as God requires of us, as humanity requires of us, because it is the honorable and right thing to do. It is what we want others to do to us, so it must be what we do to others, even when it costs us profits or is inconvenient. Ultimately, it is only love that will prevail. Greed and selfishness only kills.

Preparation, Waiting, Refining, Pruning......are all components that can be uncomfortable, tests of our patience, sincerity, and resilience. But do we stand firm through the tests and persevere, or do we give up. The question is, do we truly want to become a better, stronger version of ourselves that walks hand in hand with God, or do we simply say that we do to sound like faithful Christians?

Sometimes the waiting feels heavy, the refining uncomfortable, and the pruning unfair. But God never wastes a season. Every step is shaping strength you’ll need for what’s ahead. If you’re still climbing, it’s because He’s still preparing you. Trust the process... even when you can’t see the landing yet. 🙏
