On Sunday,, Associate Pastor Todd Lady shared a challenging message from Luke 10:38-42 (NKJV) titled, "Obligation or Adoration."

In the familiar story of Mary and Martha, we see two very different responses to the presence of Jesus. Martha was busy serving, distracted by many responsibilities, while Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen. Jesus gently reminded Martha that while service is important, intimacy with Him must come first. The passage teaches that faith can easily become a list of duties if we lose sight of the One we are serving.

💭 Obligation is when faith becomes a duty.

❤️ Adoration is when duty becomes delight.

We explored how many believers begin with a passionate love for Christ but can gradually slip into routines, responsibilities, and religious activities that leave them spiritually exhausted. Like Martha, we can become busy for Jesus while neglecting time with Jesus.
