A few weeks ago, we were honored to be invited to the Lion Club’s Luncheon. We had the privilege of receiving an award, connecting with other community partners, and hearing about the incredible work being done throughout our community. We also had the opportunity to share a little about what God is doing here at The Hope Center and the lives being impacted each day.

We are so grateful for opportunities like this to come together, encourage one another, and continue building a stronger community side by side.

✨Resource Wednesday!✨
We aim to share the resources we provide to reach those who could benefit from them.
This month, we are highlighting our food bags.

Each household can receive a free food bag once a month. Just make an appointment! Once scheduled, our amazing volunteers will pack your bag with meals, snacks, and breakfast items to help feed your family.

If you or someone you know is facing food insecurity, call 301-739-1165 to schedule an appointment. Our staff will need at least 24 hours notice to prepare your bag.

Our final favorite memory from Rock the Run is one that brought many of us to tears. Meet James. When he first came to the mission, he relied on a cane due to multiple health struggles and concerns. This year, he set a goal for himself: to complete the 5K.
Here he is crossing the finish line, greeted by our Administrator in a moment none of us will ever forget. Watching James push through, persevere, and accomplish something that once felt impossible was incredibly moving and inspiring💙

Our July Food Pantry item is spaghetti/pasta sauce. We supply this item in our food bags as well as use it in our meal ministry. We can take whatever size you are able and willing to donate!

You can purchase directly from your favorite internet store and have it shipped directly to The Hope Center, 125 N. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21740. Or stop in to our Administrative office to drop it off. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 - 4:00.

In less than a month, this quiet farm is going to be FULL of kids running through fields, splashing in the creek, laughing during giant games, and learning about the God who created everything both BIG and small. 🌎🦋

Camp Wild Rex is more than just a camp.
Creek adventures.
Water games.
Camp chants.
New friendships.
Crazy memories.
And moments where kids encounter Jesus in a real way.

Another Rock the Run favorite of ours is the incredible staff who show up and support this event year after year. We are so grateful for the many individuals who genuinely care about the people in our community and faithfully pour into the work being done here every day.

They show up to events, encourage our men to grow, and serve others with such love and dedication. Their hearts for people and willingness to give back do not go unnoticed.💛

We are also so thankful for the men in our program who wanted to come and be a part of this event. Watching them step up, serve, and grow is such a blessing. We are grateful for each one of them and their hearts to continue growing and moving forward.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to remind you of something important… your struggles matter, your story matters, and you matter.

Mental Health: The exhaustion no one else can see. 🌧
Mental Health: The thoughts that feel impossible to quiet. 🌪
Mental Health: The battle between fear and hope. ⚖️
Mental Health: It still matters here. 💚

At The Hope Center, we have the privilege of walking alongside people every day who are carrying heavy burdens. Some are visible, many are not. And while May may be ending, our commitment to creating a safe place for people to be seen, heard, and loved never stops. Jesus never turned away from the hurting, and neither will we.

Thank you to our compassion partners, volunteers, staff, and community members who continue helping us love people well each and every day.
