Most people know Bob Marley as the legendary reggae icon whose music inspired generations around the world.

What many don’t know is that some of his grandchildren are being raised with a strong Jewish identity and Israeli roots.

The young people in this photo are the children of Bob Marley’s son, Ziggy Marley, and his wife, Orly Agai Marley, who was born in Israel to Iranian-Jewish parents.

Their family story spans continents and cultures.

Jamaica. Israel. Iran. America.

One grandson celebrated his bar mitzvah, while another Jewish milestone was celebrated in Israel. The family has openly embraced both their Jamaican heritage and their Jewish heritage.

It’s the kind of story that reminds us that identity isn’t always what people expect.

Behind one of the most recognizable names in music is a family that reflects the incredible diversity of the Jewish people themselves.
