In 2011, about 1/4 of a mile from this corner we are standing on, we huddled in a closet of our parsonage with our 3 teen children and our youth pastor. The next 2 minutes seemed like hours as we heard the wind, debris and rain beat on that brick parsonage like it was a shack. Moments after, we emerged out of the now destroyed house⦠but all of us alive and well. What followed was the real miracle. The rebuild. A town, church, gym and new parsonage. We were never without support. In fact, even though our ministry has moved us away, that town, people and church are still home. But, we learned something, we learned about balance, rest, healing and family. See, in ministry, itās very easy to ākeep servingā. When we do that⦠everything else in our life gets muddy, itās hard to see where the lines of division are that separate ministry, church, family and personal health. We learned the hard way do to speak, and ultimately paid for it physically and emotionally. It was out of this process of healing that Hebron began to birth in our hearts. What if we could create a place where ministers just like us, could āclock outā and restore. Stay at a beautiful place in beautiful surroundings and rest. We desire to offer this gift of sabbatical, free of charge to full time ministry. The word Hebron actually means āFriend of Godā, we are believing that the ministry couples who stay at our place of Sabbatical will experience just that. The comfort of restoration.
