Kingdom of Heaven: The Heart of the Matter

This past Sunday, Pastor Israel took us through Matthew 5:21–26 and challenged us to look beyond our actions and examine what’s happening in our hearts.

Jesus makes it clear that anger, contempt, and hurtful words are not things we should take lightly. While godly anger can be right, the anger that festers, wounds others, and quietly writes people off is something we must bring before God and put to death.

Pastor Israel reminded us that reconciliation matters to God. Before we come to worship, Jesus calls us to make things right with our brothers and sisters. We’re called to be slow to anger, quick to pursue biblical resolution, and committed to restoring fellowship.

Our hearts matter to God.

The question isn’t simply, “What have I done?” but “What is happening in my heart?”

Let’s pursue peace, choose reconciliation, and allow Jesus to transform us from the inside out.

🌡️ When the heat says, “If anyone thirsts…”

Today’s extreme heat has us thinking about John 7:37:
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”

We can’t promise that walking into Crosspoint will lower the temperature outside, but we can promise a refreshing Sunday!

NORTH SWAN IS OPEN!

Your prayers have been answered! North Swan is officially open!

Construction in the area will continue over the next couple of months, so please continue to slow down, stay alert, watch for lane changes, and keep our road crews in mind.

And when you see those hard-working MDOT crews out there, give them a wave and a big THANK YOU! They’ve been putting in the work, especially through this Mississippi summer heat.

We’re grateful for the MDOT team and all of their hard work and dedication!

This Sunday, we started the Kingdom Life Is Good series by looking at the Beatitudes in Matthew 5.

Jesus reminds us that true blessing isn't found in success or comfort it's found in trusting Him.

Blessing is found in humility.
Blessing is found in pursuing holiness.
Blessing is found in staying faithful, even when following Jesus is difficult.

Living for Christ may not always be easy, but His promises are always worth it.

Update on road closure 🚧🚧🚧

The closure of the eastbound access to North Swan Road at Hwy. 49 is now extended through October 26th . Continue to use the South Swan Road detour to reach us at 15046 North Swan Road, Gulfport.

For our members, please remember - "...patience produces character, and character produces hope." Romans 5:4 😊

And if you're attending a service for the first time or an event at as a guest, "The Lord says, 'I will make you wise and show you (with Google Maps and detour signs) where to go.'" Psalm 32:8 🤣

Crosspoint Church will host a Lifeline Connect informational training session on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for anyone interested in learning how local churches can help care for vulnerable children and families in the community.

Inspired by James 1:27, which calls believers to care for orphans and those in need, Lifeline Connect equips and mobilizes churches to meet practical needs while building relationships that point families to Christ.

Using an innovative technology platform, Lifeline Connect partners with local child welfare agencies to connect churches with nearby families who have tangible needs. After a caseworker identifies a need, trained church volunteers receive email notifications and can respond by providing requested items and personally delivering them to families. This creates opportunities to offer encouragement, build relationships, and share the hope of the gospel.

Those interested in learning more about serving through Lifeline Connect are encouraged to attend the Aug. 13 information session and discover how the church can make a lasting difference in the lives of local families.

The session is open to Crosspoint members as well as individuals from other churches interested in participating.

This past Sunday, Pastor Israel brought our journey through the book of James to a powerful close with a message from James 5:13–18 on the life-changing power of prayer.

Prayer isn't just something we do, it's the heartbeat of a vibrant faith. Whether we're walking through seasons of joy, hardship, healing, or uncertainty, James reminds us to bring everything before the Lord in prayer.

Pastor Israel challenged us to see prayer through three powerful truths:

The practice of prayer in every season of life.
The power of righteous, persistent prayer.
The purpose of prayer—to see God's Kingdom advance and lives transformed by the Gospel.
