13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

Proverbs 3:5 — “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

You ever notice how people trust GPS more than they trust God?

You get in your car, GPS says, “Turn left.”
You don’t pray about it.
You don’t fast about it.
You don’t say, “Now hold on… I feel led to go right.”

No—you just turn left!

Even if it looks wrong…
Even if it takes you down a road you’ve never seen before…
Even if it reroutes you three times…

You trust it because it sees what you can’t see.

And here’s the problem—
We’ll trust a satellite… but question the Savior.

God says, “Forgive them.”
We say, “But you don’t understand what they did.”

God says, “Give.”
We say, “But my budget…”

God says, “Wait.”
We say, “But it’s taking too long!”

That’s leaning on your own understanding.

But God is saying:
“I’ve got a better view than you.
I see the traffic ahead.
I see the dead ends.
I see what’s coming around the corner.”

And just like GPS—when you miss a turn—
God doesn’t cancel the trip… He recalculates the route.

Somebody ought to thank God right there!
Because you missed some turns… made some wrong decisions…
But God said, “Recalculating…” and kept you moving!

So here’s the question:
If you can trust a voice on your phone…
why can’t you trust the voice of your Father?

Stop arguing with God’s directions.
Stop trying to figure it all out.

Trust Him. Even when it doesn’t make sense.

Because His plan will always get you where you’re supposed to be.

Mt 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Once the door is shut
“The door is shut.”

You ever been in an airport when they start boarding?
• They call your group… then final call…
• And there’s always that one person
• running down the terminal—

Shoes half on, bag flopping, waving their ticket—
• “Wait! Wait! I’m here!”
• But the agent calmly says,
• “I’m sorry… the door is closed.”

it doesn’t matter what seat you had…
• Doesn’t matter what you paid…
• Doesn’t matter how close you are…

Once that door shuts—your opportunity is gone.

That’s what Jesus is saying in Matthew 25.
The foolish virgins showed up… but they showed up too late.

In the mid U.S. MO. OK. AR. Tenn they have
• what they call tornado alley
• Many people have storm shelters

when a tornado warning comes…
• People don’t play around—they open storm shelters.

But there comes a moment when that door
• has to be shut—
• Not because they’re being mean…
• But because it’s too dangerous to keep opening it.

Can you imagine somebody pounding
• on that door—“Let me in! Let me in!”
• But inside they’re saying,
• “We can’t open it now… it’s too late.”

The issue isn’t that there wasn’t a shelter—
• It’s that they waited too long to get inside.

The door wasn’t shut because there wasn’t room—
• It was shut because time ran out.

Jesus said— Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
• That’s what eternity will be like for some people.
• They’ll see what they missed… But it’ll be too late.

There will come a day when the door closes—
and it will not open again.

Mt 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five [were] foolish.

3 They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Some people are in church every week.
They know when to smile.
They know when to clap.
They know when to shout “Hallelujah.”

But inside?

They’re empty.

No joy.
No peace.
No fire.
No hunger for God.

And here’s the truth we don’t like to admit:

A full lamp on the outside can hide an empty life on the inside.

You can look “lit” and still have no oil.
You can look “active” and still have no intimacy with God.
You can look “busy” and still have no spiritual breath in your lungs.

The danger of appearance-based faith
We’ve mastered the performance.
We’ve learned the language.
We’ve perfected the posture.
But God isn’t fooled by any of it.

People see the lamp.
God sees the oil.

People see the activity.
God sees the appetite.

People see the noise.
God sees the neglect.

Why the emptiness?
Because church attendance is not the same as spiritual connection.
Because singing is not the same as surrender.
Because emotion is not the same as devotion.

Some of you are running on fumes.
Some of you are spiritually dehydrated.
Some of you are trying to live off yesterday’s oil.

The good news
God doesn’t expose emptiness to shame us.
He exposes emptiness to fill us.

He wants to restore joy.
He wants to breathe peace back into your soul.
He wants to reignite the fire that used to burn in you.
He wants to give you fresh oil.

The invitation
Stop pretending the lamp is enough.
Stop settling for the appearance of being alive.
Stop hiding behind the performance.

God is calling you back to the place where oil flows —
the place of prayer,
the place of surrender,
the place of hunger,
the place of real relationship.

Because a lamp without oil is just decoration.
And God didn’t create you to decorate a pew.
He created you to shine.
