Just to be Clear: Since it seems to be a "cottage Industry" these Days to "whitewash" History and teach it exactly the Opposite of what actually happened- those of us, who have actually read and studied History for the majority of our Lives see a Need to correct the Record. Among the many Falsehoods being promoted has to do with WHY this Nation thought it to be a good thing to go and fight in Vietnam and lose 56,000 of our brave Soldiers. EVERYTHING that our Government said would happen if we were NOT there to stop it- HAPPENED! The "Domino Theory" was true. The evil Communists slaughtered MILLIONS of people in Vietnam; Cambodia; Thailand; Laos, etc. AFTER we left. MILLIONS! That is the main Reason we went- to try to stop that from happening.
It is true that the Government of South Vietnam was Corrupt and the Way we fought was certainly Self-defeating- hence many think it was all NOTHING but a colossal Waste. But the human Massacre we were trying to prevent was True and Right- and it happened exactly as predicted.
