Called To Serve When the Calling Feels Heavy
Those who serve in Christian ministry, especially in smaller churches, ⛪️ are forced to wear many different hats 🎩 How do we cope? By acknowledging and releasing anxieties to the Lord is the first step to freedom and strength. Sometimes the work can become overwhelming, and we may wonder, “Lord, how am I going to do all of this?”
But don't mistake the difficulty of the assignment for the absence of the calling.
Psalm 61:2 says, “When my heart ♥️is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock 🪨 that is higher than I.”
When you feel overwhelmed, don't quit—go higher. God is our refuge in times of discouragement.
Paul reminds us in 2 Thessalonians 1:11 that God is able to fulfill His good pleasure and the work of faith with power. Satan 👿keeps himself busy trying to discourage us from obeying our calling to serve Christ. But don’t allow Satan use the difficulties of ministry to convince you that God didn’t call you.
The apostle Paul was subjected to much suffering and persecutions for Christ’s sake.
The scripture in Hebrews 3:1 tells us to consider Jesus, who was faithful to the One who appointed Him.
The assignment may be difficult, but the One who called you is faithful.
Don't quit because you're tired. Don't quit because you're discouraged. Go to the Rock 🪨 that is higher than you.
The difficulty of the assignment does not mean you missed the calling. You don’t have to accomplish God’s assignment in your own strength. Be confident in Christ that all the difficulties you face can be overcome with diligence, hard work, and faith in the One who called you.
