Then choose one place to step in.

Come to pray.
Come to serve.

And invite someone to come with you.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, draw us more deeply into the life of Your Church. Help us recognize where You are calling us to pray, serve, and grow, and give us generous hearts to invite others to walk with us.

Today especially we remember.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the courage of first responders and ordinary people who ran toward danger to serve others.

We remember the families whose lives were forever changed.

And as Catholics, we do what the Church has always taught us to do in the face of sorrow:

We pray.

For those who died.
For those who still carry the wounds of that day.
For our first responders and all who serve.
For our nation.
And for peace in our world.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, receive into Your mercy all who lost their lives on September 11. Comfort those who mourn, strengthen those who serve and protect others, heal the wounds that remain, and turn every human heart away from hatred and toward Your peace.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Our Lady of the Gulf, pray for us. Amen.

Just before Holy Communion, the Church places on our lips the words of the Roman centurion:

“Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”

It is a prayer of humility, trust, and mercy.

We do not approach the Holy Eucharist because we have earned Christ.

We approach because He is merciful.
Because He knows our weakness.
Because He desires to heal us.
Because grace is always gift.

And so, before we receive Him, we make the centurion’s faith our own:

Lord, I am not worthy.
But I trust You.
Only say the word.

Let us pray.

Jesus, give us humble hearts as we approach You in the Holy Eucharist. Heal what is wounded in us, strengthen what is weak, and deepen our trust in Your mercy.

Come, let us worship the Lord.

There is a special grace in welcoming a priest into the life of a parish family.

As Fr. Domenic begins his time with us at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, we are grateful for his yes to serve and we look forward to getting to know the priest, the story, and the faith behind the familiar face we will now see at our altar.

Welcome him when you see him.
Introduce yourself.
And most importantly, pray for him.

Pray that the Lord strengthens his priesthood, blesses his ministry among us, and allows his time at Our Lady of the Gulf to bear abundant fruit for souls.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Fr. Domenic. Help us receive him with the warmth of a parish family, surround him with our prayers, and draw all of us, priest and people, ever closer to You in the Holy Eucharist.

Today, come before the Lord in prayer.

Begin with Eucharistic Holy Hour and Confession, then remain with us for our parish Healing Mass.

Together, we will pray:

for Fr. Carucci as he begins this season of rest and healing,

for Fr. Domenic as he begins serving our parish family,

and for every healing intention entrusted to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.

This is also a beautiful opportunity to meet Fr. Domenic and welcome him to our parish.

Eucharistic Holy Hour & Confession — 4:30 p.m.

Healing Mass — 5:30 p.m.

Let Us Pray:
Lord Jesus, Divine Physician, hear the prayers of Your people. Strengthen our priests, bring healing where it is needed, and keep our parish family united in faith and love.

As Fr. Carucci introduces Fr. Domenic to our Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church parish family, he asks us for something simple and deeply important:

Pray for us.

Pray for Fr. Carucci.
Pray for Fr. Domenic.
Pray for the life and mission of our parish.

And then, live the faith we profess.

Serve.
Show up.
Use the gifts God has entrusted to you.
Help build up His Church.

Fr. Carucci also reminds us that, even as he steps away currently, our parish family remains in his daily prayers.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, bless Fr. Carucci and Fr. Domenic. Strengthen them in their priesthood, guide them in every decision, and surround them with the prayers of our parish family.

Help each of us live our Catholic faith not only in word, but in service, generosity, and love.

The mission of His Church belongs to us all.

Our Lady of the Gulf, pray for our priests and for our parish family. Amen.

Fr. Carucci has shared with our parish family that, with the Bishop’s approval, he will soon begin a six-month sabbatical as he continues to address health and healing needs he has carried through much of the past decade.

This is a time for rest, restoration, and trust in the Lord’s care.

As Father steps away for this season, he asks especially for the continued prayers of our parish family.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, Good Shepherd, watch over Fr. Carucci in the months ahead. Grant him healing, strength, peace, and true rest. Sustain him in body, mind, and spirit, and remind him of the love and prayers of the parish family he has so faithfully served.

May this sabbatical be a time of grace, renewal, and deeper trust in You.
