Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Heart of Christ, pierced for our salvation, remains open to all…a fountain of mercy, healing, and divine love.

In every age, Jesus invites us not only to know Him, but to entrust ourselves to Him.

Together, we entrust to Him our families and our nation.

May broken relationships be reconciled.
May injustices be repaired.
May the wounds of our land be healed.
May all people come to know His infinite love.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Today the Church celebrates St. Barnabas, the Apostle known as the “Son of Encouragement.”

As a faithful companion of St. Paul, Barnabas walked beside him in proclaiming the Gospel, strengthening the early Church, and encouraging fellow believers in their faith. His witness reminds us that friendship, fraternity, and encouragement are gifts from God and that no one is meant to carry the mission alone.

As we honor St. Barnabas today, let us offer a special prayer for our priests, especially those who faithfully serve without the daily companionship and fraternity of other priests.

Here at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, we are especially grateful for Fr. Carucci. Through his celebration of the sacraments, preaching of the Gospel, pastoral care, and daily witness of faith, he shepherds our parish family with generosity and love.

May Fr. Carucci always know the prayers, gratitude, and support of the people he serves.

“Encourage one another and build one another up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NABRE)

St. Barnabas, Son of Encouragement, pray for our priests.

May the Lord strengthen our priests in their vocation, surround them with faithful friendships, sustain them in moments of solitude, and fill them with the joy that comes from serving Christ and His Church. 🙏✝️🙏🏼

A child learning to pray.

And St. Thérèse reminding us that holiness is often found in the smallest acts of love.

Before her statue, a young heart learns something beautiful…that prayer is not complicated, that Jesus is near, and that the saints walk with us as friends and examples on the journey of faith.

These quiet moments may seem small, but they are often the moments that remain with us for a lifetime.

This is how the faith is passed on:
One prayer.
One conversation.
One example of love at a time.

“Remember that nothing is small in the eyes of God.”
— St. Thérèse of Lisieux

May we follow the Little Way of St. Thérèse, trusting that every act of love, every prayer, and every lesson shared with a child can help lead a soul closer to Christ.

St. Thérèse, pray for us. 🌹✝️

Daughters of Mary is a community of women who gather for prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal reflecting on the upcoming Sunday Gospel, deepening our relationship with Christ, and encouraging one another in faith, family life, and daily discipleship.

Like Our Blessed Mother, we seek to listen attentively to God’s Word, treasure it in our hearts, and live it faithfully in our daily lives.

Come grow in faith alongside other women at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church seeking a deeper relationship with Christ through the example and intercession of Our Blessed Mother on Thursdays at 9 am.

We also encourage you to join the Daughters of Mary Flocknote group to receive weekly Gospel readings, reflections, study materials, and meeting updates before each gathering.

If you are unable to attend on Thursday mornings or would prefer another option, please let us know. We would also love to hear from anyone willing to help facilitate an additional group or alternate meeting time.

“Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.” -Luke 2:19 (NABRE)

As Mass comes to a close, Fr. Carucci offers a final welcome to our guests and visitors and a final reminder to all of us:

We have not come here simply to fulfill an obligation.

We have come to worship the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit.

Having listened to God’s Word and received Our Lord in the Eucharist, we are blessed and sent forth not to leave Christ behind, but to carry Him into the world.

Whether you are a parishioner, a seasonal resident, or a visitor to our beautiful Gulf Coast, we are grateful you joined us in worship.

The final blessing is not the end of the Mass.

It is the beginning of our witness.

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.” — Matthew 28:19 (NABRE)

May we go forth proclaiming Christ by our words, our actions, and the way we love one another.

Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life.
