Guilford Historical Society sends wishes for a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thanks to all volunteers at GHS during CHRISTMAS IN GUILFORD events and thanks to Guilford Bed and Breakfast for hosting our Christmas Party again this year. GHS still has items for sale, so if you are looking for mittens, hats, scarfs or any other GHS memorabilia, give us a call at 207-217-0963. Here are a few photos to enjoy!

Guilford Historical Society is OPEN again this Saturday December 13th from 11:00 to 2:00. Our CHRISTMAS SALE includes FREE Reindeer Food and FREE Gift Wrapping. We still have many items left for sale - Handmade crocheted and knit items, Guilford Memorabilia, History Books, Guilford Bicentennial Cookbook and more - Gifts for everyone on your list! While you shop, take a look around the museum, visit the School Room and learn about the history of the Town of Guilford. Take a ride around Guilford to see many who have entered the Spectacle of Lights contest! Remember to go online and vote for your favorites. Thank you to members and friends who have donated to our sale, and a special thanks to our volunteers - GHS Members, Foxcroft Academy Key Club members, and PCHS students.

Santa and Mrs. Clause joined the crowd in Guilford on Friday night along with the Shiretown Singers. All participated in Christmas Carolling and the Annual Tree Lighting countdown. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

We wish you all a great Thanksgiving weekend making more special memories with family and friends. Let's be thankful for our meal together and remember and reminisce about those who cannot be with us this year.

As we are all so busy with Thanksgiving, we're also gearing up for 'CHRISTMAS IN GUILFORD'. We sure hope you have the chance to stop by the Guilford Historical Society on this Friday and Saturday, November 28 & 29. We are OPEN both days from 11:00 to 2:00. We're having a CHRISTMAS SALE with handmade items and Guilford Memorabilia for sale. FREE Reindeer Food and FREE Gift Wrapping.
Hope you all can check out vendors at Maine Coffee & Mercantile (former Guilford Community Theatre Building) and attend the ANNUAL GUILFORD TREE LIGHTING on Friday, November 28 at 6:00 pm across the road from GHS (former Braeburn Hotel Lot), then visit with Santa at the RED MAPLE INN at 7:00 pm!!

GHS is OPEN today 11:00 to 2:00. FREE pumpkin decorating! Baked goodies, hot mulled cider and water by donation. Guilford memorabilia for sale. Come visit us and tour the Guilford School Room. Cemetery Tour at 4:00 pm at the Guilford Center Cemetery.

Years of dust, dirt and mold are gone! Ben & Company (AKA Ben Fagan) did an absolutely amazing job of power washing the Guilford Historical Society Museum recently! Cindy Woodworth and Janie Lander worked on cleaning and organizing the inside in preparation of a busy summer.

Today the Guilford Historical Society received a large donation of Memorandums, a few Rostrums and several large scrapbooks from the PCSS library. We are thrilled to have received all of the additional yearbooks as our archives now have at least one copy of Rostrums from 1904 to 1949. We have at least one copy of Memorandums from 1950 to 2025 except for yearbooks for 1989, 1996, 1998, 2007, 2012 and 2020. If you have one of these years and would be willing to donate a copy to the Historical Society it would be greatly appreciated.
