Shepherd by the Sea looks forward to greeting the Rev. Katherine Frederick as she presides on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at our service of holy communion at 10 am. Rev. Frederick is an Episcopalian priest making her first visit to Shepherd by the Sea Episcopal/Lutheran Mission.

Holden Evening Prayer

A Holden Evening Prayer service, also referred to as "Vespers 86," with a beautiful sung liturgy composed by Marty Haugen, will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 5 pm at Shepherd by the Sea. Pastor Moses Penumaka will officiate. Sue Bohlin will be the musician. Holden Village is a nondenominational retreat center located in the North Cascade Mountains. It offers a variety of programs and group activities in a beautiful mountain setting, reachable only by a ferry ride up Lake Chelan in Washington State. With our Saturday service, we will be joining others in Holden Evening Prayer Around the World to celebrate spring and rebirth.

Each Sunday, Shepherd by the Sea's communion service is at 10 am in our sanctuary at 38958 Cypress Way in Gualala. Pastor Moses Penumaka will be presiding this Sunday, May 2rd, 2026 at 10 am. We welcome all to stay and join us for coffee, refreshments, and fellowship following the service.
