As Believers, most of us know this scripture, "He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more." — John 15:2
Here is the issue, some of us are being PRUNED but think we are being persecuted or in warfare. Pruning doesn’t feel good, pruning convicts you of habits you always been comfortable with, but now you’re not. Pruning will bring persecution or accusations, so God can disconnect you from specific people. Pruning will cause your heart to grieve when you fall short because you don’t want to disappoint God. Pruning caused the Believers(Acts 8:1 ) in Jerusalem to scatter, so they can go preach the gospel in other parts of the world.
The scripture says ‘He cuts off every branch that doesn’t bear fruit’, that means dead things in your life. Following Religious rules & Traditions can be dead branches, people( friends, family, business partners) that you are unequally yoked with can be dead branches. The scripture also says He prunes those things that are growing spiritually, so if you are not growing in spiritually, then He is not pruning you. We have to be actively doing something, making progress in His word, in His presence to be Pruned. Once the Pruning is over, dead things are taken away, we can transition just as a Caterpillar transition to a Butterfly. We can shine light in dark places. Our mindset will be renewed and we won’t compromise the things of God, we will be God pleasers & not people pleasers. There is Death in the Pruning, but Abundant Life after the pruning…
