The last evening of our Summer Scripture Series is Sunday night, August 2 @ 6:00 pm. We will be discussing what the Bible says about "Service" in following Jesus's footsteps. We'd love to invite "Everyone" to come join us! Sandwiches after the study.

July 26 will be the next session of our Summer Scripture Series. It doesn't matter if you missed the first 2 sessions. Each session is a different focus topic. The 26th focus topic will be PRAYER ....How to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and what do the scriptures say about PRAYER. Everyone is welcome and we will celebrate with Pizza afterwards.

Tomorrow evening at 6:00 PM will be the second part of the Summer Scripture Series - "What Does it Take to Follow in the Footsteps of Jesus?" This Sunday July 19 will be on what the scriptures say about "Worship". Facilitator will be Pastor Jeff Hastings.

Last Sunday covered what the scripture says about "Study". Facilitator was Ken Smith. We had a great discussion and hated for it to end; however, we did have homemade ice cream afterward!
Of note: Acts 17:11
"Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." Jesus said they were of noble character.
They didn't just read or listen, -- they examined!

The first session will be on July 12, 2026, from 6 to 7 PM, and the topic will be STUDY.
Ice cream treat and fellowship after the scripture session.

Homecoming/Crawdad Reunion/New Sign Dedication.......All went well despite the unpredictable weather. Catered Fish Fry provided by "Texas Custom Catering" of Lufkin was delicious and they are wonderful people to work with. Shout out to them for an excellent meal! Music provided by Celeste Tanner, Fredie Chapman and Jesse Butler was a joyful blessing! Ken Smith shared an excellent history and memories of Prairie View Methodist Church. Finally, our Pastor, Jeff Hastings, led the Blessing and Dedication of our new Church sign. Our new sign was dedicated in the memory of Uann Smith and Lula Ainsworth Smith, and Elmer Smith and Minnie Ola Davis Smith and a plaque of dedication was presented to be placed on the sign.
