I Am Written In His Story
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev 20:15:).
Obedience to the Gospel is a fundamental concept in Christian theology, referring to the act of submitting to the teachings and commands of Jesus Christ as revealed in the New Testament. It is not merely an intellectual assent to the truths of the Gospel but involves a transformative response that encompasses faith, repentance, baptism into His blood, receiving the Holy Spirit, and the process of becoming a new child of God.
I was always written in His story. He died for me to give me the opportunity of eternal life with Him. That is personal. What He did for me was personal. What He suffered for me caused Him great pain and scars. He left heaven for me and suffered as a human being. It doesn’t get more personal than that. It requires from me a personal response and commitment. My name is written in the Book of Life. I am a Child of God.
I was a Child of God before I was born. God wants all His children back with Him. Jesus wants that too, enough to do what He did. We are all part of His story. Over a two-thousand-year-old story woven through time, patience, sacrifice, suffering, torture, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus back into Heaven. He is coming again to gather His own.
Is your name written in His Book of Life?
Hymn: “Tell Me the Old, Old Story”
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we pray to obey You in all things and be in Heaven with You where we will hear the stories of all who obeyed, Amen.
