THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG: The Best Prescription

"What if I told you that there was a prescription available that, if taken on a weekly basis, could elongate your life expectancy by seven years, significantly increase your chances of happiness, and substantially reduce the likelihood that you will suffer from depression? What if I further told you that the known side effects of this prescription are: A greater sense of meaning, greater likelihood of volunteering and being an asset to your community, and a higher probability that you will be more generous toward those in need? You're invited to our annual Family Fishing Night!

🕓 Time: 6:00 - 8:30 PM
📍 Where: Madison Christian Church campus (Gray Pond)

We will provide hotdogs, chips, water, and bait. Feel free to bring your own bait if you wish.

If you like to fish and be outside, this is a great time for all ages! We usually see people catch bluegill, bass, and catfish.

"And now we GO! We have talked about what it means to KNOW Jesus. We have discussed ways to GROW to be like Jesus. And now we have to GO tell others about Jesus. I know many of you are already telling others about Jesus, but we need to get better about it and do it more frequently. We have a world that is lost without the love of Jesus, and they need his followers to tell them what they are missing."

THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG: Perseverance Rewarded

"Seldom do I watch a Cincinnati Reds baseball game with tears rolling down my cheeks. (I might think about it during a particularly punishing loss, but I have not yet resorted to tears over that.) However, two times this season – May 6, 2026, and again on May 15, 2026, I have cried my way through innings. May 6 was the date that Tejay Antone returned to the major leagues to pitch the 8th inning at Wrigley Field, retiring the side. May 15 was when Antone recorded his first major league save of the season. "

THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG: No Promise of Tomorrow

"Ben Sasse is known for his public leadership and national attention, but beneath all of that is a man who has spoken often about his faith in Jesus, his love for family.

More recently, his faith became even more personal and visible after he publicly shared his diagnosis with terminal stage-four pancreatic cancer. Instead of responding with bitterness or despair, he spoke honestly about fear, faith, heaven, and the peace he has found in Christ. 60 Minutes recently interviewed Sasse. The discussion of faith begins at the 8 minute 10 second point of this video, and the highlight I am referring to specifically is at the 11 minute mark of this video."
