Jesus…the Good Samaritan? 🤔

In response to a haughty religious expert, Jesus makes the hated, rejected Samaritan the hero of his story. And I think there’s something much deeper happening there.

What prevented this religious man from seeing a Samaritan as “good” may have been the same blindness preventing him from recognizing Jesus as God.

Maybe the Good Samaritan isn’t just a cute story telling us to help hurting people.

Maybe we’re the ones in the ditch—beaten and robbed by Sin and Death, abandoned by religion, and left for dead.

And maybe Jesus is the Good Samaritan who came looking for us, found us, carried us, healed us, and restored us—while we could do absolutely nothing to save ourselves.

That makes “Go and do likewise” hit VERY differently. 😳
