đź«‚ We weren't called to do it all alone.

In this week's sermon, Rev. Wendy McCormick reflects on Paul's image of the Body of Christ from 1 Corinthians 12. Just as a body needs many different parts working together, the church needs people with different gifts, passions, and callings.

Every role matters. Every gift has value. Every person belongs.

Watch this short clip and consider where God may be calling you to serve and connect within the body of Christ.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and give thanks for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

As Christians, we believe every person is created in the image of God and that Christ calls us to be peacemakers in a broken world. Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and selfless love demonstrated by those who served others, even at great personal cost.

We remember with gratitude those who never returned home, and we pray for their families, for veterans, for those currently serving, and for a world where God's peace and justice may flourish.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18 (NRSVue)

May we live worthy of the freedoms we have been given by serving our neighbors, seeking peace, and loving one another as Christ has loved us.

Happy Memorial Day from First Presbyterian Church of Grove City.

People at First Presbyterian Church come from a wide variety of perspectives on the political and social spectrum, but we agree that we are called to help feed the hungry, comfort the lost and broken-hearted, and work for justice in whatever ways we can. Why do you stand looking up?

This Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, Rev. Wendy McCormick’s message, “Look Where You’re Going,” explores Acts 1:1-11 and the angels’ question to the disciples after Jesus’ ascension.

As Jesus rises, the disciples are reminded not to stand still, but to move forward, following in Christ’s footsteps with purpose, faith, and hope.

Join us as we reflect on what it means not just to look upward, but to live outward as Christ’s hands and feet in the world.
