Many braved the weather to gather for corporate worship this morning, and many more joined us on the livestream when travel wasn’t safe. What a blessing to gather together!

Thank you to everyone who shoveled sidewalks, arrived early, and stepped up to fill roles for those who couldn’t make it.

Pastor Jones preached “The Defense Rests its Case” from Acts 6:8-15; 7:54-8:3. As Stephen faced death, he fixed his attention on the only one who is strong to save. His dying breaths were spent in two prayers: “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” and “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” Trust in his Savior and compassion for his enemies.

As we head into a new week, remember: Christ remains on his throne and stands as our witness and advocate before the Father.

Next Sunday we welcome new members to Covenant as the Lord continues to build his church with living stones upon the sure foundation.

Reminder that tonight’s evening service is canceled due to weather. Stay safe and warm!

WINTER WEATHER AND SUNDAY SERVICE UPDATE: Due to the severe winter storm expected, we will be canceling Sunday School and the evening service. The morning worship service will continue at the usual time (10:55 a.m.) but please be advised that heavy snowfall is expected around 11 a.m. and so the roads will likely be more snow-covered after the service than before. The morning service will be live-streamed for those who are not able to join us in person. Please be careful and do not venture out on the roads if conditions are or will be hazardous.

Well, we didn't do so well with the live streaming the last two weeks, but I think we are ready for Sunday.

The static audio on Sunday evening (the 11th) was apparently due to interference on the wireless frequency, from a neighbor. We have changed the wireless frequency and plan to monitor the audio Sunday to make sure that we have fixed that problem.

The problem this last Sunday was that apparently the modem was fried by the lightning strike Saturday afternoon. Armstrong was at the church Tuesday, and the internet is functional once again.

So, by God's grace, we will go live again on Sunday.
