Confirmation Exam Deadline - Sunday @ 10am
Confirmation parents:
The class had their exam on the Lord's Prayer this afternoon. Those that did not finish by the end of the class time took the opportunity to take the exam home to finish.
The exams must be turned in by Sunday at 10am so that Pastor Wolfgram can grade them as it is his last Sunday and with packing his truck Monday.

Almighty God, You bless the earth to make it fruitful, bringing forth in abundance whatever is needed for the support of our lives. Prosper the work of farmers and all those who labor to bring food to our table. Grant them seasonable weather that they may gather in the fruits of the earth in abundance and proclaim Your goodness with thanksgiving; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1

We look forward to joyfully gathering where God has promised to give His good and gracious gifts and where He has commanded us to be in the Third Commandment-

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

As we gather, we are reminded of our sins, but also pointed to the most important thing in the world: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins! Nothing can top that message in this world! What wonderful news it is to be reminded of our salvation in Christ and to daily remind your children and grandchildren of this hope found only in Jesus!

Schedule for Sunday:
8:00- Adult Bible Study
9:00- Worship
Following the service- Sunday school as well as fellowship in the parish hall.

Tonight at 7pm is our final opportunity for confirmation parents to receive the information needed for the year as well as sign the confirmation parent agreement. This agreement highlights what students must do in order to pass the upcoming academic year.

---REMINDER---
Confirmation Parents of 6th-8th graders:
As we anticipate the start of a new academic year, we will be having a mandatory parent meeting to discuss the confirmation class and expectations for the year.
This meeting will be offered at two differant times:

Sunday, August 22 at 4:30pm
Or
Thursday, August 26 at 7:00pm

Remember, these meetings are both exactly the same, so you need only attend one.

The Aberdeen Area Lutherans for Life has a booth at the Brown County Fair and and St. John's covers the booth on Friday. We are still looking for a couple more volunteers for this coming Friday, August 20th for the 7-8pm shift as well as the 8-9pm shift. If you are interested you can contact Jackie Iverson at 228-4879 to sign up.
