2024 EID UL ADHA ANNOUNCEMENT

Assalamo Alaikum wa Rahmatullahe Wa Barakatuh Brothers and Sisters:
Eid ul Adha will be Insha Allah on Sun, June 16, 2024.
Eid prayer will be held at Washington Park, Groton CT 06340 (next to the police department).
The Takbeer will start at 7:00 AM. Salatu Al Eid will start at 8:00 AM sharp.
As a backup plan; in case of a rainy weather, we will have Eid prayers at both, Groton and Preston Masjids. There will be 2 prayers at each Masjid. First at 8:00 AM and the second at 9:00 AM.
We need some volunteer brothers to come early at 6:30 AM to set up the prayer area.
Light refreshments will be available after the Salaat. Please bring your favorite dish to share with other community members.
Musjid will provide coffee, water, danishes, donuts, and a few other refreshment items. Please do not take more than what you are going to eat to end throwing food in the garbage.
Please, bring your own prayer rug.
After the Eid prayer, we need help cleaning the place and removing the garbage. Another group of people have reservation for the place starting at 11:00 AM.
Please remember to fast on the day of Arafat on Saturday June 15th, and to offer your Udhiah after Eid Prayer.

Eid party programs and ICNL Annual Picnic (firework day) will be on Saturday, July 13th, starting at 3:00 PM at the Masjid.
Musjid will sponsor the barbecue. Please bring your favorite dish and drinks to share with others.
There is a parking ban after 5 PM. So please be early for the Eid programs starting at 3:00 PM.
You may have to park away from the Masjid area if you do not get there early.
Please bring your own portable folding chairs to sit in for Eid Party and Fireworks.
On Friday night, please volunteer to come to the Masjid for Maghrib prayer to help the brothers for preparation and tasting the food for the barbecue.

UPDATE: Announcement for Eid ul Fitr.
Salam o Alaikum Brothers and Sisters

Eid prayer will be at Mystic Marriott 625 North Road Groton ,CT 06340 on Wed 04/10/2024.

Takbeer will start at 7:30 AM.
Prayer will start at 8:30 AM sharp.
Please arrive on time! Bring your prayer rug.

To cover the cost for rent and continental breakfast please donate $20 per individual and $40 per family. You may pay more if you prefer. Anyone with financial hardship who is not able to afford donation should let the brother or sister at donation desk know and will be allowed without payment.
Young children should be under supervision all the time .

Please remember to pay Zakat ul Fitr before the prayer ($15 per person). Please remember our brothers and sisters in Gaza at this time of your celebration and donate generously.

Eid celebration will be on Sat 04/20/2024 at the Masjid starting at 1:00 PM. As usual, there will be a barbecue provided by the Masjid. Please bring your favorite dish, fruits and deserts.

With heavy heart, to inform you of the sad news that Br. Mohammed Yousuf (the father of Br. Sami Yousuf) had passed away. Please make Duaa for him that Allah (SWT) bless him, forgive all his shortcomings and increase his Hasanat, make his Grave a piece of Paradise and Grant him the best place in Jannah; Jannat Ul Firdous Al-Aala. Ameen

-May Allah (SWT) bless his family and give them the patience to deal with this calamity.
-The sisters’ area is opened for sisters (no children).

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahe Wa Barakatuh Brothers and Sisters:Eid ul Adha will be Insha Allah on Wednesday, June 28, 2023Eid prayer will be held at the City of Groton Auditorium located at 295 Meridian St, Groton, CT 06340 (same building for the police department). Please, park your car at Washington park and walk to the prayer Hall. The Takbeer will start at 7:30 AM. Salatu Al Eid will start at 8:30 AM sharp. We need some volunteer brothers to come early at 6:30 AM to set up the prayer area. Light refreshments will be available after the Salaat. Please bring your favorite dishes to share with other community members. Musjid will provide coffee water, danishes, donuts, and a few other refreshment items. Please do not take more than what you are going to eat to end throwing it in the garbage. Please, bring your own prayer rug. We recommend you wear a facemask. After the Eid prayer, we need help cleaning the place and folding the the tables and chairs. Please remember to fast on the day of Arafat on Tuesday June 27th.
