Today in Saint James History:

Saint James is happy to announce the 50th Anniversary of Rev. James C. Couser! Rev. Couser was a longtime member of Saint James and was ordained here on August 8, 1976. Rev. Couser’s ordination will be recognized during regular worship today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Ledge, MI.

Saint James played a vital role in Rev. Couser’s faith formation and ministry training, and we are happy to celebrate this milestone! An original newspaper clipping announcing his ordination can be found hanging in the hallway across from the elevator, and a letter from Rev. Couser announcing this milestone can be found in your Saturday eNews.

From our shared Parish Community:

The St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church - Grosse Pointe Annual Rummage Sale will be held on September 11 from 9am-4pm & September 12 from 9am-3pm in the St. Paul basement.

Donations for the rummage sale are welcome now through August 31 and can be dropped off at St. Paul Mondays from 6-8pm, Tuesdays from 10am-2pm, and Thursdays from 10am-2pm. St. Paul is located at: 375 Lothrop Rd, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.

Saint James ministry of Hospitality includes providing a home for community organizations and non-profit groups. Inquiries about using the sanctuary, gathering area, or other church space for events such as concerts, lectures, workshops, and more are always welcome. Please contact the church office for more information.

Office Hours for the Week of June 29, 2026

Monday, June 29: Closed
Tuesday, June 30: 93am-12pm
Wednesday, July 1: 9am-1pm - Pastor Grant is on vacation this week & won't be in office.
Thursday, July 2: 9am-12pm
Friday, July 3: Closed - This is Pastor Grant's day off

The office is staffed by volunteers on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Our Office Administrator, Emily, staffs the office on Wednesdays.

Pastor Grant is on vacation this week through Thursday, July 2. She will be available via phone or email beginning Sunday, July 5.

The Church Office is not open Friday through Sunday.
