No one is too broken for God.
No one’s sin is too much for Jesus.
No one’s past is unredeemable.

It is the hopeless and helpless who are the candidates for the mercy of God.

God is rich in mercy and has loved you with an everlasting love. You are not invisible to Him. You are seen. You are known. You are loved.

May you move toward Him today because He has already taken the first step.

We aren’t who we used to be.
And this is only by the grace of God.

We aren’t where we should be.
But the grace of God will lead us there.

May we keep this reality in mind as we navigate our day. Everyone we interact with needs the radical lrequiresgrace of God. You aren’t who you used to be because of His grace. Give others the very grace you’ve received that has changed you!

Grace received demands grace to be given.

Blind but now seeing.
Lost but now found.
Dead but now alive.
Enslaved but now free.

Give the grace that an alive, found, seeing free person has.

Happy 4th of July!

As Christians, we celebrate freedom in Jesus from death, darkness, and Satan. We use our freedom to love, serve, and proclaim the source of our freedom. We use our freedom as an opportunity to lift others up and point them to the Victor.

Today, we celebrate freedom as citizens of the United States of America, and we give thanks for that freedom. We celebrate the independence we have for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

With our allegiance given to Jesus and our eternal citizenship belonging to heaven, let us use the independence we have to promote the freedom that is found in Christ. Let us use the freedoms of this nation to lift others up and point them to freedom in Jesus. Let us use our citizenship for the glory of God and the good of others!

🪂 When do you need a parachute? When you’re falling! Don’t wait until life is crashing down to depend on the Holy Spirit. Just like breathing happens naturally, we need to develop a spiritual dependency where we don’t move without God’s guidance.

Being Spirit-dependent is seeking His wisdom and His leading before doing anything. What would your life look like if you prayed before every decision? What habits do you need to instill so that you only move when the Spirit of God leads you? What intentional steps can you take today to be more dependent on Him?🙏

City Service is this Sunday, and we are having one combined service at 9:30a.

Join us for a very special weekend as we will worship together out on the front lawn for a combined service. This unique service will be similar to our Sunday worship with an added commissioning at the end as we move into our serve opportunities.

We have over 260 volunteers committed to going into the community to make the love of Jesus tangible to Downriver. We cannot wait to see what God will do with these acts of service!

We are expectant that God will change us and all of Downriver because that is what He specializes in!

Today doesn’t have to own you and you certainly don’t have to do it alone.

One of the most practical ways to follow Jesus is to surrender your decisions before you make them.

Pray before deciding.
Slow down long enough to ask:
Is this against God’s Word?
Is this shaping me into the image of Jesus?
Is this feeding my flesh or strengthening my faith?
Is this wise considering where I’ve fallen before?
Is this wise for the season I’m in right now?
Is this wise for the future God is calling me toward?

A surrendered life is built one decision at a time.
Not by doing whatever feels right in the moment, but by letting Jesus lead.
His way is better. His wisdom is right. His leadership is good.

So today, do not rush past His voice.
Bring your decisions to Jesus.
Trust Him enough to obey Him.
And remember: every choice is shaping your heart.

Real Talk: You can't sing 'Jesus is Savior' on Sunday and live like hell Monday through Saturday. Surrender is a daily choice with every decision you have to make. He's either King of all or not King at all! 👑

If you missed the news, Church of The Way officially has the keys to our NEW church home!

We can hardly believe it, either…but when you follow the Lord, it’s the adventure of a lifetime! He has opened this door for us, and without question, we can see His hand leading us.

Work begins this week on the new building, and our prayer is that we will be in our new space (because things in our current space are very tight!) within a year. Please be praying with us for a smooth renovation. 🙌🏼🙏🏻🫶🏼
