EPIC Youth Group Extraordinary People Imitating Christ

Us as a youth group want to be epic in our pursuit of Christ. It is the basis for our meetings.

We want to go beyond the usual and the ordinary in the world today in order to know Christ and to show others Christ as well. Mission Statement:

Encounter
At Epic Youth Group we value encounter. We get to know each other through playing games and by hanging out. Then we get to know God through encountering him through hi

s word, with a bible study. Purpose
We understand that God has a purpose for everyone, especially young people. We strive to disciple them, shed light on their gifts, and nurture them into the people God is calling them to be, so that they are equipped to do the good work, the purpose, God has for them. Integrity
We are to model Christ in our lives. He was a person of integrity and we are called to be that also. So we strive to possess all the fruits of the spirt. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control. And to walk in the spirit like Christ did. Community
Our community is very important to us because it is important to Christ. We want to impact our community for Christ, by spreading his love and seeing people saved. We go along side our church, Living Proof Church, during events to achieve this.

Tonight's lesson was on hypocrisy. We started with playing 2 truths and a lie. The youth wrote down 2 truths and a lie and I read out what they wrote and we all took a vote on what we thought was the lie!! It was fun but then we moved towards what we thought it meant and how it affected us. Sometimes throughout church we will hear the term "church appropriate" and that often times things you wouldn't say or do inside a church building shouldn't been done or said outside the church building for we are the church. But we also talked about failures and that they can and will happen its what you chose to do after that makes a difference. It's OK to fall down just make sure you get back up and realize what made you stumble to begin with!

We are still collecting new and gently used shoes to raise money for our youth group.
We only have to October 1st to get 2500 pairs of shoes to reach our goal, and thanks to you we are a little over half way done!!!!! We have collected 1400 pairs so far, so that means we still need 1100 pairs.
Please help us reach our goal.

Drop off is at Living Proof Church.
There is a box out front, so you can drop shoes off at any time.

We have 40 bags, which means we still need 1500 pairs of gently worn or used shoes. Please help us reach our goal of 2500 pairs of shoes so we can take our youth to youth camp!! You can drop them off at Living Proof Church in Groesbeck. Thank you!!!!
