If you're planning or preaching this month, you might have noticed we're spending time in the Book of Romans 📖

This book of scripture is one of the most significant works of the Apostle Paul and has left a huge imprint on Christianity. So, what it is?

'The Bible Project' offers a quick overview of the background, themes and theology found in this foundational Christian text.

The Sierra Pacific Mission Center (SPMC) is excited to announce the call for proposals for the 2026 Innovation in Ministry Grants! We want to empower you to meet the unique needs of your local community through creative, heartfelt ministry that puts the Enduring Principles of Community of Christ into action.

We encourage your group to gather, pray, and discuss:

💬 Local Needs: Where would Jesus spend his time in our community today? Who is being left behind?
💬 Our Gifts: What are we passionate about? How do our individual callings fit together?
💬 Youth & Young Adults: How can this funding empower their energy and ideas?
💬 Building Bridges: Where can we fill gaps in our community’s socio-economic or cultural landscape?

Here is what you need to know to apply:

✅ Eligibility: Open to any SPMC congregation, small group, or ministry (must be approved by your pastor).
✅ Funding: Grant amounts range from $100 to $5,000. Our total annual fund is approximately $10,000!
✅ Impact: We are looking for programs with clear, measurable outcomes that build bridges across socio-economic or cultural gaps in the community.
✅ Deadline: Submit your online form by August 1.
Winners will be notified on November 1, and funds will be distributed on November 8!

🚀 We have a new look! 🏔️☀️

Inspired by the vibrant landscapes of Northern and Central California, our refreshed visual identity reflects our shared journey toward light, hope, and transformation.

While our colors and logo are new, our core remains the same. We are an open, welcoming space focused on three pillars: Belonging, Purpose, and Hope. Compassion becomes real through action, and we are dedicated to continuing that work together. The logo pairs perfectly with Community of Christ branding, and can also stand on its own two feet.

Swipe to see the meaning behind our new design!

(And stay tuned... a brand new website is coming soon!)

Celebrated fifty days after Easter, Pentecost is more than a day of remembrance of the disciples receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is a living expression of God’s continuing revelation and presence in our lives today.

Join Karin Peter and Blake Smith in this Coffee to Go episode of the Faith Unfiltered Podcast, as they dive deeper into our scripture passage for Pentecost Sunday from Acts 2:1-21. This short fourteen minute episode invites you into preparation for Pentecost, as they explore the radical inclusivity of the Holy Spirit and invite you to reflect on how this Spirit continues to breathe new life into you today.
