Hearts and Hands for Haiti had another wonderful sewing day! 23 of us sorted, traced, cut, made pads, and sewed. It's quite amazing when you hear 11 sewing machines running at the same time. We missed the folks who were not able to join us today! And we're grateful to Tammy for taking the time to drop off stuff and pick up stuff and just generally doing her amazing thing. We're getting our lunch plan in place for next sewing day in July, actually July 15, when JeanJean and Kristie will be joining us. We're all looking forward to hearing updates on United Christians International projects in Haiti and hearing about old friends. We received yarn today for our friend in Nebraska, whom we'll see next month. More T-shirts or clothes, sewing machines, and peanut butter are coming. Our total for peanut butter today: Barb found 36 on sale, Tammy brought some in, Donna Jones, our friend brought us six, and somebody else brought 12, but I didn't catch who it was. So our total is 153. Our diapers have had lots of helpers at home this round. Janet has been sewing pads and gave us a great start. Cheryl finished 59 and Mary finished 20. Our grand total is 8885. Tammy made 20 more women's hygiene kits, bringing that total to 733. She's just about out of everything, so keep that in mind if you're shopping. Tammy also made four more gorgeous adult totes, bringing that total to 661. Tammy also made six dresses, bringing that total to 3563. Tammy also made eight receiving blankets, bringing that total to 434. Shorts 3459 total including our 7 today. No matter what our totals, the fellowship and joy we share working to make life a bit easier for our Haitian friends makes us a family. Come join us anytime!
