Beginning May 19th Penrose Street will be closed to through traffic at the intersection of Penrose and 10th Avenue for roughly three weeks. You will be able to go north to the 16th Ave to reach the church.

Beginning Tuesday morning, May 19, the intersection at Penrose Street and 10th Avenue will close for utility work related to the Grinnell-Newburg Community Schools Elementary School project. The closure is expected to last up to 3 weeks.

Access to areas north of 10th Avenue, including the Grinnell Community Early Learning Center and Ahrens Park, will remain available from the north via 16th Avenue. During construction, the south driveway will be closed and all traffic should use the north driveway, which will be converted to allow for two-way access.

Please follow posted signage and allow extra travel time while work is underway. We appreciate the community’s patience as this important infrastructure work is completed.

Merry Christmas from Calvary Baptist Church! This season is a wonderful time to reflect on the message of hope and joy that the birth of a Savior brought to us. In Luke 2:11, it is proclaimed: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”
