Last night, we heard from one of our student leaders, Adam. We leaned into surrender—and how everything in Psalm 23 begins with one simple, powerful truth:
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing.”
David shifts everything in that one line.
Not his circumstances—but his perspective.
When the Lord is truly our Shepherd, we stop striving to be our own.
We stop carrying what was never ours to hold.
And in that surrender…
we find peace.
we find patience.
we find a steady confidence—not in ourselves, but in Him.
Surrender isn’t losing—it’s where we finally realize we were never alone to begin with.
It’s where joy and freedom start to take root.
It’s where God begins to make something new in us.

Also last night 🤍
We had the chance to be part of something really special—one of our youth pastors, Nicole, and student Gloria (who will be interning at Love, Love INC Des Moines this summer) joined Love INC for the final night of their pilot program, celebrating participants who completed the class.
Real life change, with people who have a heart to serve and walk alongside the messy and the beautiful of people.
Especially grateful for the partnership with The Church at Union Park and Pastor Josh—So thankful for what God is doing through the Church in our city.

Yesterday we watched eleven amazing students stand in front of our church family and declare their faith—not perfectly, not with everything figured out—but with courage and honesty.

This is what it’s all about.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
But a life being formed in Christ.

We are so proud of each of these students and incredibly grateful for the mentors, families, and church who walk alongside them.

Keep going. Keep growing. We’re with you every step of the way.

You’re sitting in your favorite chair, in your favorite room.
It’s warm. It’s safe. It’s familiar.
And outside?
The storm is loud. The unknown feels overwhelming.
But there’s Jesus—standing at the door, hand outstretched.

Last night at The House, we talked about what it really means to follow Him.

Because following Jesus often looks like leaving what’s comfortable to step into what’s unfamiliar.
We looked at the disciples, who got up and followed immediately.
And we looked at Nicodemus, who stayed in the doorway—close to Jesus, but not fully surrendered.

And that’s the tension:

It’s easy to stay where it’s safe.
It’s harder to take His hand and step out.

But following Jesus has never been about comfort—
it’s about trust.

We asked our students: When Jesus is standing at the door… will you stay where it’s safe, or will you take His hand and follow?

Because at some point, everyone has to decide—stay comfortable, or take His hand.

Last night, in the middle of Holy Week, our students didn’t just talk about Jesus—they lived out what He modeled.

Half of our group went to The Church at Union Park, serving members of the community with humility and care. Then they continued on to Love, INC’s Essential Supply House—sorting and stocking resources that will meet real, tangible needs.

The other half stayed to serve our Prairie Creek Church kids, leading them through the Stations of the Cross. They helped create a space for younger hearts to pause, reflect, and see the weight of what Jesus walked through on the way to the cross.

Holy Week reminds us that Jesus didn’t come to be served—but to serve.
And last night, our students stepped right into that story.

No spotlight. No recognition.
Just obedience, compassion, and quiet faithfulness.

This is what it looks like to follow Jesus. Happy Holy Week Friends. Join us tomorrow Prairie Creek for our Good Friday Service at 6:30pm 🩷

We had an awesome night together—full of games, worship, and something even deeper: perspective.

We were honored to hear from Brandon McNace, founder of Exodus 5:1, who shared powerful stories of what God is doing to free slaves in Pakistan.

The stories were both heartbreaking and hope-filled—and we are humbled to play even the smallest part in what God is doing across the world. He is moving. Not just here—but everywhere.

And here’s what is absolutely crazy:

$300.
That’s all it takes.

$300 to secure someone’s legal freedom.
$300 to provide documentation that changes their identity from slave to citizen.
$300 to cover food and housing for six months as they begin again.

Just $300… to change an entire life.

Last night our students stepped out into the sunshine and onto the sidewalks, covering them with Scripture and simple reminders like “Jesus loves you!” It was a small but meaningful way to share the love of Christ with anyone who happened to pass by.

Later in the evening, we heard from three students who attended The Call Conference, where they spent time exploring God’s calling and learning more about their spiritual gifts. They shared parts of their testimonies and how they sense the Lord stirring their hearts toward serving His Kingdom.

In small groups, students continued that conversation by beginning to explore their own spiritual gifts and the unique ways God has wired each of them to serve the church and others.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10

It was a beautiful night of encouragement, testimony, and discovering how God is beginning to shape the ways these students will serve in His Kingdom. ✨

Our student leaders Zofi, Adam, and Cael, along with Wes and Nicole, had the opportunity to join students from several other Global Methodist churches, at “The Call” conference — a gathering for young people who sense the Lord calling them into ministry or who have felt the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit toward His purposes.

It was a powerful time of worship, prayer, and pouring out before the Lord. Students participated in small groups, listened to panel discussions with pastors and ministry leaders, and heard from men and women who faithfully bring Jesus into their everyday vocations.

To stand beside these students and send them out — knowing the Lord is anointing them to build His kingdom in the places He calls them — was a deeply beautiful and holy moment. If you catch them tomorrow at church - ask them about it!

What is peace?

When asked the question, students had all kinds of responses: Listening to a thunderstorm, looking at starts, being with friends, flow state with piano/guitar..But these are things that bring happiness and joy, not necessarily peace. You know the kind...the peace that comes from not having everything figured out, but being present with Jesus

In worship we sang Give Me Jesus, and the words felt like a prayer rising from the room:
“I don’t want anyone else, I don’t need anything else, You are my one thing.”

When our hearts learn to quiet themselves before Him, when we choose His presence over the noise and business of our llives, something begins to settle inside us. The peace of Christ is not something we manufacture — it is something we receive when we draw near to Him.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." — John 14:27

What a gift it is to watch students slow down, lift their voices, and remember that Jesus Himself is our peace. 🤍

What does peace mean to you?
