The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic benefit society, open to practicing Catholic men 18 years or older in union with the Holy See. Mary’s Church in New Haven, CT in 1882 by Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, the Knights of Columbus today has a membe

rship of more than 2 million members across the globe. As a fraternal benefit society, the Knights of Columbus cares for the financial needs of its members and their families through its insurance program, which has received the highest ratings possible from A.M. Best and been named a World’s Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere Institute. As the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization, the Knights of Columbus has provided both financial aid and volunteer hours to organizations such as March for Life, Special Olympics, World Youth Day, the Global Wheelchair Mission, the U.S. of Veterans Affairs, as well as parishes and communities around the world. In the past decade, the Knights of Columbus has contributed $1.5 billion and 690 million hours to charitable projects. Marquette Council was granted its charter on June 14, 1953 and oversaw the vast territory that at the time belonged to its home parish of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Griffith. Today, Marquette 3631 still calls St. Mary's home and also takes care of the needs of the parishioners of St. Ann in the Black Oak neighborhood of the city of Gary, Indiana. We are engaged in the life of the parish and our surrounding community. Our meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM. We invite all practical Catholic men, age 18 and older, to come be a part of our mission that Fr. Michael J. McGivney charged us with, to be our brother's keeper.

We pause to remember those brave men and women who have paid the ultimate price in defense of our liberties and freedom. On this Memorial Day, we entrust to Almighty God the souls of those in the armed services who have fought and died for the United States.

Today we want to take some time and show our appreciation and gratitude to all of our ladies out there who we call "MOM." Whether through natural, adopted, spiritual, or any other means, our loving mothers have shaped the men that we have become today. The mommy's out there help us to be better husbands, fathers, sons, and brothers. So have a very happy and blessed Mother's Day, from all of us here at Marquette 3631.

Congratulations to our council’s chancellor and membership director, PGK David Negrete. He was recently elected at the state convention to a term as our next state advocate for the Indiana jurisdiction. This begins a journey that will culminate, God willing, in our brother’s journey to becoming a future state deputy for Indiana.

“Exult, let them exult, the hosts of heaven,
exult, let Angel ministers of God exult,
let the trumpet of salvation sound aloud our mighty King's triumph!”

From all of us at the Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center, may the joy of Easter fill every part of your lives.

THIS WASN’T JUST A DINNER. THIS WAS A STATEMENT. 🍝🔥

Our Annual Fat Tuesday Spaghetti Dinner benefiting the The SHARE Foundation shattered every expectation.

💥 MOST ATTENDED EVER.
💥 MOST SUCCESSFUL EVER.
💥 NEARLY $4,500 RAISED.

The hall was packed. The energy was electric. The support was overwhelming. The calls, texts, and emails haven’t stopped.

This happens because people step up:

🔥 Tom Vespa — relentless leadership chairing this event from start to finish.
🔥 Carmelo Zanfei — serving a meal that people are still raving about.
🔥 Jenn Pejka — a beautiful hall setup and a raffle that absolutely stole the show.
🔥 Volunteers who worked nonstop without seeking recognition.
🔥 Every guest who showed up, bought tickets, donated, and believed in the mission.

This community showed what it’s capable of.

And don’t forget — support the businesses and companies that backed this event. Many have supported for YEARS. That kind of loyalty deserves action.

We are beyond grateful. We are energized. And we are already setting the bar higher.

Next year? Even Bigger. 💪
