Every child deserves to walk into school this fall feeling confident, cared for, and ready. Through our partnership with Heartland Hope Mission, we get to help make that happen for families right here in our community.

Clothes for Class is a back-to-school clothing drive, and NOW is the time to get involved! Grab a brown paper bag, fill it with new clothing for kids in grades K–12 clothing, and drop it off at Journey by Sunday, July 5. (If you prefer to let someone else do your shopping, you can also bring in a Target or Walmart gift card.) 💙

We'll pass the clothes along to our friends at Heartland Hope, and together, we'll help families head approach the school year ahead with excitement. 💙

👋 We said "goodbye for now" to our friends, Will and Lisa Arend, yesterday morning before their move to Minnesota to be closer to their grown kids and grandson. The Arends have been part of the Journey family since our days meeting in the middle school and have served faithfully for as long as they've been here.

If you've eaten a bagel on Sunday morning, chances are that these are the people who picked it up from the bakery. They have taught your kids about Jesus and done life with your teenagers, and Will's also served on our Elder Board and Leadership Team, ensuring that our church will remain both spiritually sound and operationally strong to serve the Gretna community for decades to come.

Will and Lisa, thank you for your sacrificial love and service for the people of our church. Without a doubt, people feel more welcome at Journey and have drawn nearer to the Savior because of the love you guys have poured out for our church. We love you, and we're excited for your next chapter! 💜 ⛪

This summer, Journey Church is diving into Romans 12:9-21, where the author, Paul, focuses mostly on the messy stuff in relationships.

Loving without hypocrisy.
Hating evil.
Hoping boldly.
Continual prayer.
Blessing your enemies.
Weeping with the grieving.
Conquering evil with good.

Love in Action is a 10-week journey through what it actually looks like to follow Jesus in everyday life. We're going to talk about how the call to love is also an invitation to live differently and reflect the character of God to a watching world. 🌍
