As a parent (and now grandparent), I love when my children talk to me. Some days I don’t hear from them and I check my phone for messages and check my texts anxiously looking to see if I missed their calls or messages. And sometimes I get sad and feel deserted when there is no conversation or contact with them. Of course, I understand the business of their lives with their own kids and school and activities and work, etc. But, I also miss hearing their voices and their concerns and their “victories” and just all about their lives.
I imagine God must experience these same emotions (we’re created in His image, so I imagine He feels similar) when we go about the business of life and we don’t speak to Him or include Him in our sadness, joy, concerns, victories… the great times as well as the heavy times. He’s our Father who loves us more than our earthly fathers and mothers. How much more does He desire our conversations and inclusion of Him in our everyday lives!!! He wants to hear our voices and He desires to be a part of ALL of our experiences.
Have you called your Father, (God) today, have you messaged Him (prayer) ? Have you shared all that’s on your heart with Him (the hurts, pain, as well as the joy, happiness and victories)? The Bible says He bends down to listen… meaning He’s anticipating and focusing on YOU, your words as you speak! You have your Father’s undivided attention… just talk to Him… He’s waiting!!!
