Founded in 2014 by Joe Ricketts, The Cloisters on the Platte Foundation is developing a weekend religious retreat in the tradition of St. Set among the natural beauty surrounding the Platte River in Nebraska, The Cloisters on the Platte will host weekend retreats where attendees may peacefully reflect in silence on his or her life and relationship with God. We are currently developing the future r

What is an Ignatian Retreat and Who was St. Ignatius of Loyola? An Ignatian retreat is one modeled on the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, who lived from 1491 to 1556. During his lifetime, St. Ignatius composed a brief set of meditations, prayers and mental exercises, to be used by men and women seeking to discern God’s will in their lives. Though St. Ignatius Loyola was himself a Roman Catholic, today, his spiritual exercises are often made by non-Catholics.
