5 weeks until we gather for our 2026 weekend! Has your registration reached Aldersgate?
There’s lots going on at Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center this summer: One Day Adventure, Gator Trot 5K on July 4, the weeks of summer camp and more! This Saturday, June 13 is Work Day.
Please be in prayer for staff (a few more would be great!), campers, for God’s leading and guiding.

Hi Family Life Weekend camper community,

The FLW planning committee met today to evaluate the 2025 weekend and to begin planning for the 2026 edition.

Please mark your calendars and reserve July 17 - 19 for our next gathering together at Aldersgate.

In this season of Thanksgiving we give thanks for each one of you. Until we gather again may "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26

Please join in congratulating Dr. Scott Johnson (2025 FLW speaker) on this honor.

Dr. Scott L. Johnson, pastor of Pendleton Center United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church of Buffalo, has been awarded the Excellence in Social Justice Award by the New York State Council of Churches. A scholar, pastor, and community leader, Dr. Johnson has championed racial justice and co-founded the Buffalo 10 Scholarship following the 2022 mass shooting. His recognition highlights a lifelong commitment to building communities of love, justice, and peace.

It's hard to believe that only a week ago we were together at Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center!

A 2025 follow up:
Greetings FLW campers,

The apostle Paul opened many of his letters with this salutation "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." I Corinthians 1:3

Thank you each for being a member of the FLW family and the greater Aldersgate community. I pray we are able to apply the principles Scott shared with us and the 3 Strategies: Listen first (ask questions, don't pass judgement), Prioritize the heart (seek relationship more than victory) and Honor the mind (know your facts). See Romans 12:17-21

One of our campers is missing his softball glove; it's quite new (but might have mud in the pocket), possibly Wilson brand. Could you please check the glove(s) you brought home to see if you have it? If you find it, please let me know.

Saturday morning Marianne concluded Chapel in the Pines by leading the group in singing the Prayer of St. Francis, may this be our prayer as we go about our daily lives.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
