The Gass Family

Olivia and Blake have 12 year old twins, Embry and Fox. Embry was born with some physical challenges that have put serious complications and stress most recently on his lungs. He has been in the hospital for 9 weeks now. The first month was so difficult, with more recent days getting better. Prayers are focused on healing and continued strength for him to be able to move to rehab. Fox, Embry’s twin brother, has really been struggling with the separation from his twin and mom and dad have been limited in their work.

The family said that the prayer and financial support could not have come at a better time! Funds will be used for household bills.

Katie & Michael Disher Family

Katie and Michael have 3 young children. Their youngest, Reese, who is 14 months old, was born early at 29 weeks by emergency c-section. Mom and baby Reese were both in need of life saving interventions. Baby Reese was born with multiple life-threatening malformations. The last year has required so very much from this young family to care for Reese, including weekly visits to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital for her ongoing care with a team of doctors. She has had 3 surgeries so far, with a long road ahead.

Six months ago, Greg was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. The tumor was too large for ideal treatments at the onset. Finally in March they were able to begin chemo and radiation treatments. Greg and his wife Lisa live in a rural area, so Greg first commuted, then had to temporarily relocate to Houston for his daily treatments. Greg is in a lot of pain, but throughout everything has maintained a positive attitude and gives praise to Jesus no matter the outcome.

Erin and Josh Carfiro

Erin and Josh have 3 sons. Their oldest is 21 and their youngest, Callan, just turned one. Callan was born with a rare genetic disorder that will affect his lifelong growth and development. Erin worked full time from the time she was 15 years old but because of Callan’s diagnosis is now unable to return to work. The strain on the family has been immense since their household income was cut in half and their medical and living expenses have only increased.

There is a lot of fear surrounding the unknown and the family stands in need of encouragement and hope. Our change for a dollar funds will immediately help with mortgage and outstanding household bills.

Lexi and Max Browning

Lexi and Max grew up in Center Grove. They welcomed baby Breyman into their family on January 27. Earlier this month he was diagnosed with a rare disorder called Bilary Atresia which affects his liver function. Breyman underwent two surgeries on March 10 to temporarily correct his liver function. The diagnosis could mean an eventual liver transplant. Max is an Army veteran having just completed his tour of duty in December 2022 and has only just begun his civilian job. Lexi has been on maternity leave from her job.

Change for a dollar funds will help this young family with household bills as they focus on supporting the recovery of their son.

Cody and Rachel Cooper live in Coatesville, IN where Cody is employed with the railroad after serving two tours of duty in the Army. Rachel is a full-time mom to their 5-year-old son, Harlen. On February 24, Cody was cutting trees in the woods at their home when a tree branch came down and hit him on the head causing injuries including a spinal cord injury. Cody has been in ICU since the accident but is making a bit of progress in the last few days. Rachel asked for our prayers to be focused on efforts to wean Cody off of the vent and being able to be moved out of the ICU by next week – this will allow them to make plans for rehab. She asked us to pray also for their faith to stay strong and for Cody to have hope in God through this challenging journey.

Casey is currently living as a single mother to her two precious children, 6-year-old Dana and 8-month-old Skylar. She and her husband have been married for two years, but current circumstances require dad to be gone for a while. Casey is working very hard at providing for her family – she is an assistant manager at a local McDonald’s where she currently walks to work. She is getting brave, and just three weeks ago decided to get her driver's permit and is learning to drive. With the help of her family, she has been able to manage her work schedule and childcare; however, things are very tight financially.

Casey would love prayers for baby Skylar as she has been sick quite a bit and for Dana JR who is missing his daddy!

Change for a Dollar funds are going to help Casey with rent and utilities.

Kevin is a single dad dedicated to raising his two teenage children. Madison is 17 and has spina bifida, and uses an electric wheelchair. The family currently does not have a wheelchair-accessible van. The need is great as Madison struggles to get to and from her medical appointments and is very limited in being involved in community events without this transportation. Kevin supplements his full-time income by doing yard work and odd jobs for others to keep up with financial demands.

Change for a Dollar funds will go entirely towards modifying or purchasing a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

Harris and Danielle Dunlap

Due to circumstances out of their control, the Dunlap family had to move out of the rental that they had called home for years. Danielle is sick and currently on the transplant list. Harris is employed with the Clark Pleasant school system and just able to make ends meet. They are working with a couple of agencies to help them find housing, but it has been a struggle, and are currently living in a motel. Harris is balancing taking care of his wife and their two daughters while navigating these logistics.

Change for a dollar funds will assist with car payments and motel payments, as well as try to help find more permanent housing and then assist with associated deposits.
