CHURCH OF GOD WORLD MISSIONS MOZAMBIQUE
14TH UPDATE OF THE PRAYER LIST FOR JANUARY 2021
Word of Greetings:
• National Directors, Missionaries, Provincial and District Overseers;
• Pastors, Evangelists, Intercessors, Local Church Leaders and Believers:
Fraternal greetings from the Executive Council and the National Council of the COGWMMZ.
Word of thanks:
We praise and thank God for the life and protection attained during the year of 2020 just ended, for only He, the Father, was and will continue to be our only safe refuge (Psalm 91:1-2).
Word of recognition:
We recognize that the year just ended was an atypical, turbulent and challenging one, for the capacity of our faith in Christ, mainly due to the widespread pandemic of Covid 19 and the subsequent prevention measures emanating from the governments of various countries of the world in order to mitigate the fast spreading virus.
Rejoicing at the Lord:
The COGWMMZ rejoices for the divine care and protection of its members in the country and brothers around the world; we acknowledge that favors have been achieved from the Most High God, in response to the sacrifice, prayer and fasting offered to the Father by those who have sought him with pure hearts in January 2020 and throughout the year, in different places.
Continuity of prayers:
The National Executive Council and the National Council call, once again, the COGWMMZ to again present before God sanctified, to continue in the spirit of prayer, sacrifice, fasting and supplication and God seeking, from the first to the last Sunday, 3 to 31 January 2021 (Jeremiah 29:13) and to follow His will (1 John 2:17).
Fasting mode:
• We will not implement the absolute or radical fasting: no food, no liquids and no water, etc., recommended for short period of time, fasting and praying (Esther 4:16);
• We will not follow the normal fasting: no food, no liquids, but water, proper for relatively longer periods of time (Nehemiah 1:4);
• We will practice a partial fasting for 29 days, in which we will be allowed to drink water throughout the day if we are thirst, and eat a vegetables meal at the end of the day, if we are hungry; but we should exclude the consumption of delicious food during the period from 3 to 31 January 2021 (Daniel 1:8; Daniel 1:12-16; Daniel 10:2-3);
• People who are sick or breast-feeding babies may observe special fasting and prayer times that do not harm their spirituality and health and that of their babies.
Scriptures:
Text 1: We ought to strengthen in the Lord and in the force of his power (Ephesians 6:10);
Text 2: Behold, the hand of the Lord is not shrunken so that he cannot save, nor his ear aggravated so that he cannot hear (Isaiah 59:1);
Text 3: The Lord did not break his covenant, nor altered what came out of his lips (Psalm89:34);
Text 4: Our help will come from the one who made the heaven and earth... (Psalms 121:1-8);
Text 5: Let us cry unto Him, and he will answer us and tell us great and hidden things that we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3);
Text 6: Listen, Lord, our words, consider our groaning; be attentive to our cry for help, our King and our God, for it is you we implore; in the morning you hear our cry; in the morning we present our prayer to you and look forward to it with hope (Psalm 5:1-3).
